Spy Kids star Alexa PenaVega has opened up about her sex life.
She discussed her marriage with Carlos PenaVega and explained: “This is going to sound terrible, but you know how you don’t necessarily want to go to the gym at the beginning but once you start going, you’re like: ‘I have to go every day, this is great. I feel good, my body feels good.” Alexa spoke on the Heaven In Your Home podcast and said that she “would enjoy” sex but “it wasn’t this thing she craved all the time”.

The actress said that her husband “wanted her to want him” so to reciprocate the feelings, she “started trying to own the sex part of their marriage” and “really work on that”. She was motivated to change when Carlos addressed the situation.

“I knew I had to do this for him and it all started with one comment he made. I knew this is kinda when we were in trouble and I didn’t think we had any issues in our marriage, but he said: ‘I just keep praying to god that he’ll take away my hunger for sex.”
Alexa was distraught by the comment and realised she wanted to stop this happening. “My poor husband, he’s literally asking god to take that urge away from him.” She confessed to crying in the bathroom after hearing his statement and questioned “why she was not on his level,” which “hurt her heart”.

PenaVega has previously opened up about their nine year marriage with E! News Daily Pop. Back in 2020, Alexa said that “communication is super key” and when they have some alone time together, the focus is on each other rather than work.

The actress rose to fame in the early 2000s after starring in the Spy Kids franchise, as well as Sleepover, Little Giants and The Deep End of the Ocean. Away from the silver screen, PenaVega also starred as Ruby Gallagher in the ABC Family series Ruby and the Rockits.
Back in 2015, Alexa competed on Dancing with the Stars alongside her husband Carlos.
