Strictly Come Dancing finalist Tasha Ghouri has revealed she would love to change career direction following her success on the BBC show
Strictly Come Dancing finalist Tasha Ghouri’s got her sights set on a new career path following her stardom on the BBC dance floor.
The Love Island sensation, who was born deaf and sports a cochlear implant, was delighted with being able to raise awareness of her community on telly. She’s now keen to use her fame into cracking the world of documentaries.
Tasha, 26, said: “I would love to do more TV and do a documentary around ableism and delve into that subject. Representation has got much better but more still needs to be done. It should be the norm, not a surprise. When I left Love Island, the hardest thing to deal with was all the ableism. There was so much lack of awareness,” according to The Sun.

This comes hot on the heels of her Saturday night performance that crowned her the queen of points in Strictly history nicking the top spot from pop star Ashley Roberts. With a whopping 596 score tally, she’s nudged past the Pussycat Doll’s 591 back in 2018, reports the Mirror.
Meanwhile, Tasha broke her silence about losing out on the glitterball trophy, with comedy ace Chris McCausland winning alongside pro partner Dianne Buswell.
Taking to Instagram, Tasha shared snaps from her Strictly stint and the highlights included a surprise visit by her brother from Australia during the live telly finale.
Tasha waxed lyrical about the “magical” adventure and gave a shout-out to her partner Aljaz Skorjanec.
She said: “Strictly after 13 weeks thank you, when I say doing this show has just been so magical I can’t even put it into words and surprising me with my brother flying in from Australia! ! ! This was extra special having him there watching the final, thank you so much for making this happen.
“Alijaz you made magical beautiful dances that’ll be remembered for a long time from our American smooth, waltz, show dance and many more.
“Everyday we laughed and smiled, you are what strictly is about – your passion and positivity radiates from within on this show. I can’t thank you enough from the bottom of my heart, you made my experience so magical. And we made history! ! ! What a moment.
“I have to give a huge shoutout to @arduinobertoncello for our show dance, thank you so much for making the show dance EPIC! you really helped me bring out my inner ginger and doing this style I LOVED IT! ! ! “.
