Susanna Reid says goodbye to GMB viewers as ITV show set for major shake-up

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has announced that today will be her “last day” on the ITV breakfast show before she takes a break from the early-rising programme

Susanna Reid informed Good Morning Britain viewers that it would be her “last day” on ITV as she takes a short break from the channel.

She had been discussing the 1 Million Minutes campaign, which encourages people to donate their time to those in need, with a particular focus on combating loneliness during the festive period. During the show, Susanna celebrated the campaign’s success and confirmed to viewers that it would be her “last day” in the studio before returning in the new year.

The campaign reached a record-breaking high, and an elated Susanna couldn’t have been happier as she announced at the end of the show: “Right, ending on a positive note, our amazing 1 Million Minutes campaign,” as 124 million minutes flashed up on screens – a new record high.

“We have a special programme on, on Christmas Day but this is my last chance to say thank you to you before Christmas because it’s my last programme before Christmas Day and we have got to 124 million minutes.”

Meanwhile, on yesterday’s programme Tuesday (December 10), Susanna appeared visibly irritated on the ITV programme, during a conversation with entertainment expert Richard Arnold. They had been discussing the upcoming I’m A Celebrity reunion, set to air this coming Friday on ITV1, from 9pm, when Susanna questioned Tulisa’s noticeable absence, reports the Mirror.

Susanna announced she was taking a break from GMB

Susanna scrutinised the sneak-peek clip, interjecting with the query, “Is that going to include Tulisa?” A brief silence ensued before Richard confirmed, “No.”

Visibly miffed, Susanna shook her head and prodded further, “So they’re not going to do the follow-up? That’s just such a shame.” Clarifying, Richard replied, “She’s still processing her journey, I’m sure we’ll see more of her come the new year.”

The GMB presenter’s frustration grew as she remarked, “She did brilliantly on the show, it’s a shame that she feels like she can’t take part.” Richard added: “It is because she had such a great bond with Oti as well.”
