The 1975 frontman Matty Healy previously appeared in Waterloo Road and Coronation Street before his musical fame.
The 35-year-old, is best known for his songs About You and Somebody Else and, more recently, dating Taylor Swift, has lived a rock and roll lifestyle. But his parents Denise Welch and Tim Healy may have had a helping hand in his earlier acting days.
Matty made an appearance in the fourth episode of the fourth series of Waterloo Road as an unnamed student. However, further investigation reveals that he appeared more than once.

Matty is seen again at a house party in series five, sharing a kiss with EastEnders actress Zaarah Abraham’s character, Michaela. He is also seen in the background of a scene later in series four, as classmates board a coach.

However, his most significant appearance was in a music class where he actually played an instrument. Given that his parents Denise and Tim were part of the cast, this could make Matty the ultimate nepo-baby.
The news comes as Denise revealed her son Matty’s “hidden” role on Coronation Street. On a previous episode of Loose Women Corrie icon Simon Gregson appeared on the show.

Simon has portrayed Steve McDonald in the enduring series since 1989, with Denise joining the Corrie ensemble in 1997 as Natalie Horrocks, the “home-wrecker” who shattered Kevin and Sally Webster’s marriage. Sue Cleaver, who was also on the panel at the time, made her debut on the Weatherfield cobbles in 2000, meaning the trio of actors shared screen time on the soap briefly.

As they strolled down memory lane about their shared experiences on Coronation Street, Denise let slip that her eldest son Matty had a cameo in an episode over two decades ago. Speaking to her former co-stars, Denise revealed that Matty made his appearance in the show’s live 40th-anniversary episode in 2000, when he was just 11 years old.
While Matty is globally recognised as the frontman of his band, performing at legendary venues like Hyde Park, Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden, his younger brother Louis is making a name for himself as an actor.

He’s had early roles in shows like Vera and Emmerdale and recently starred in Ackley Bridge and ITV’s Hotel Portofino.
Of course, in recent months, Matty garnered a lot of attention thanks to his relationship with global superstar Taylor Swift. They were previously linked in 2014, before rekindling things last year.
However Taylor’s current romance, with Travis Kelce, is getting more publicity than any of her past lovers.
