Rylan Clark, the popular TV presenter, made a rare confession about his mum Linda while hosting ITV’s daytime show This Morning.
On Tuesday (August 13), Rylan was presenting the programme with Josie Gibson when they started chatting with a group of Olympic athletes. One of them had been trained by her own mother, prompting Rylan to reveal something about Linda’s parenting style.
He confessed that if his own mum had trained him for the Olympics, it would have been a disaster, as he would have likely knocked over the Olympic cauldron in a major mishap.
He questioned: “How is that [being trained by a parent]? Because I could not think of anything worse than my mum coaching me to try and win an Olympic medal. Could you imagine Linda?!”
“I mean, I’d probably knock the cauldron over. The torch would go out. It would be terrible. But yours know what they’re talking about, they’re incredible at the sport themselves,” reports the Mirror.
Linda, who appears on Celebrity Gogglebox with her famous son, has had her son “praying” for her as she battled various health issues, including chronic illness Crohn’s disease, which causes inflammation in parts of the digestive system. Last year, she also suffered a terrifying fall while on holiday and was rushed to hospital for an emergency procedure.
Now, the 71 year old is reportedly “recovering” from her injuries.
Spilling on his mum’s mishap this year, Rylan Clark dished the details: “So unfortunately I took my mum away on her first holiday in a good few years and sadly she’s had quite a bad fall, resulting in her having to have surgery out here,” he penned.
“She’s not in the best health with her other conditions and this has made it more complicated.”
He spilled further: “My priority at the moment is my mum. Praying for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.”
Health woes meant Linda only managed a single appearance at an X Factor live show to cheer on her boy.
