This Morning star heartbroken as dear friend loses long battle with cancer

One of This Morning ‘s most well-loved stars has said he is heartbroken after announcing the death of one his closest friends.

Gok Wan, 49, shared a heart-breaking video to Instagram on Tuesday (May 14) which tragically broke the news. In the video, Gok could be seen with his pal Ali in a series of happy moments throughout their lives.

Writing in the caption, Wan penned: “After many years of fighting, Ali has finally ended her battle and is now at peace, resting with the stars. Ali passed away today with her family by her side.

Clearly emotional, he continued to say that he missed her “wisdom, smile, naughtiness, kind touch, everything”. Whilst he continues to grieve the loss of his good pal, several of Gok’s co-stars from This Morning flocked to the comments section to pay their respects to Ali.

Alison Hammond, who is also a good friend of the How to Look Good Naked star, said: “So sorry about your loss Gok, how lovely to have had a special friend like Ali. Love to you and her family and friends – RIP.”

Similarly, Lisa Snowdon, who also acts as a fashion expert on the ITV show, said: “Gok, darling – I’m sending you so much love. What a wonderful woman and how lucky you both were to have found one another and shared so much, the laughter, the love, the dancing, so many special moments.”

Whilst Gok continues to star on the show as fashion expert, as well as a chef, his new career has also begun take off, in a complete U-turn from his presenting days. Since beginning his DJ career in 2017, the star has gone from strength to strength as he was spotted behind the decks in a new post uploaded to social media.
