Reality star Pete Wicks has some harsh relationship advice to offer: ‘Do it by text’. The 36-year-old Towie star has amusingly taken on the role of a relationship advisor in a campaign where he, self-dubbed as ‘Cupid’s Nemesis’, provides tips on how to swiftly end a relationship if it’s not working out.

In a humorous video, Pete is seen frolicking around an estate reminiscent of Saltburn with his butler Bertie, even getting a fake heartbreaker tattoo, while emphasising the simplicity of quickly ending a relationship.

According to a new study commissioned by Sky Mobile, May 1 is the day when people are most likely to be dumped, with nearly seven out of 10 Brits (69%) agreeing that it’s the best month to break up. It’s considered the ideal time for a fresh start, particularly as over eight in 10 Brits prefer to be more ‘carefree’ during the summer.

However, breaking up isn’t easy and over half of Brits (56%)) prefer to break up via text to avoid confrontation.

In the spoof video, Pete suggests, “It’s not that hard! The golden rule? Do it by text. No need for all that conversation, begging you to stay malarkey”.

TV heartthrob Pete Wicks quipped: “Don’t worry everyone, I’m only breaking the hearts of mobile networks this summer. A whopping 41% of those surveyed are itching to ditch their current mobile phone provider. When hunting for a new mobile contract, a massive 87% value flexibility above all, with 86% craving the freedom to tweak data plans according to their needs and 69% wanting the option to swap phones mid-contract.
