Singer Una Healy has admitted that she “rushed” into a three-way relationship with boxer David Haye as she craved love.
The Saturdays star, 42, opened up about how she felt about the ‘throuple’ situation as she reflected on how her previous relationships affected her. She added that she was desperate for validation and was willing to do anything to be in a relationship, be it good for her or not.
Before she got into the polyamorous relationship with David, Una was happily married to rugby titan Ben Foden, 38, with whom she shared two children. But things came crashing down in 2018 when it emerged that Foden had been cheating on her with his PR agent Becky Milne.

Having been married for six years prior to this, the relationship soon broke down, leaving Una to fight for herself. However, she soon turned elsewhere for love and after divorcing Ben, she soon found David to be a vital source of affection.
Speaking on retailer Boots’ podcast Taboo Talk, Una spilled the beans on how being in the throuple with the champion boxer had been hurtful to her. Chatting with Vogue Williams and Love Island star Faye Winter, Una opened up candidly about her ailing love life.
Healy admitted that she does “feel a pressure” to be in a relationship, before having the realisation that she “dated so quickly and went into a relationship with someone after my divorce so fast”. She added that she should not have fallen victim to peer pressure in order to find anyone.
“I felt, ‘I need someone, I have to find someone,’ and I didn’t at all!” she continued. “That just never worked out anyway, for the best, but I did think there was a lot of pressure on me to find someone.”
Una later confessed that she was wrong to rush into a relationship so quickly before giving time for herself and allow herself time to recover and “re-discover” herself. And whilst Una did not explicitly name the boxer, she added: “We were so incompatible – it was like chalk and cheese!”
Healy and Haye had dated throughout 2023, and she was also linked to being in a “throuple” with David’s other girlfriend, model Sian Osborne. After the relationship ended, Una confirmed that she and the other woman did share David, but insisted she did not know it would be that dynamic when she began dating him.
Soon after realising that she was in a throuple with David and Sian, Una realised a line had been crossed and promptly left the relationship. “Dating HIM is the right term because that’s how it was, it wasn’t a throuple – we had a lovely relationship,” she explained on the podcast.
“It was casual, it wasn’t serious,” she continued. “I was happy enough with it; it was in a romantic capacity.
“He was very honest that I wasn’t the only woman he was seeing, I was very aware he was seeing other people. I knew he was being honest and it’s not like I was being cheated on,” she added.
Una also said that she knew he was not “husband material”, and was just “enjoying it” – and whatever may come. But things soon soured when she realised that David did not believe in traditional relationship structures.
But despite their high-profile break-up, the pair have continued to remain on good terms, with Una saying that she “really enjoyed” her relationship with David. “He was very kind to me and very honest, but it ran its course and I’ve been single ever since.”
