Vinnie Jones has confessed to being “f***ing p***ed off” with Jeremy Clarkson over his show, Clarkson’s Farm, insisting that he “had the idea” first.
The ex-footballer, now 59, is set to release the second series of his own farming programme, Vinnie Jones In The Country, on November 20.
The show, which will air on Discovery Plus, may seem familiar as it bears similarities to former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson’s own agricultural venture. However, don’t accuse Vinnie of copying Clarkson – he insists the concept was his to begin with.
His series sees him managing 2,000 acres of a West Sussex farm. Meanwhile, Clarkson’s Farm features the presenter trying his hand at farming on Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire, alongside his trainer and friend Kaleb Cooper.

He named the farm Diddly Squat, claiming that’s how much profit the venture earns him. Vinnie has expressed his displeasure with The Grand Tour host, who has taken his new show to Amazon Prime Video, asserting that he originally came up with the concept for the show.

He revealed that six years ago, he sent a three-minute video pitch to all the broadcasters, featuring him on a quad bike discussing nature. Speaking to The Times, he disclosed: “And they were, like, ‘Oh, we love it, but you know, we’d rather see you with Bradley Walsh or wrestling a bear.’ And I’m, like, ‘That’s not where I’m going. I want to show people that I could leave most people behind on my knowledge of the countryside,” reports the Mirror.
Not throwing in the towel on his unique concept, he launched a YouTube series titled The Crafty Countryman. He exclaimed it “went nuts”, only to see Clarkson’s Farm debut on Amazon and smash it, with Vinnie conceding he’d been “beaten it”.

Yet, despite Clarkson’s show being a smash hit, Vinnie confessed his irritation, but quickly clarified that he didn’t want “any negativity whatsoever to come out from me to Clarkson’s Farm, because I am the biggest fan of it. Sure, sure, sure. But I was f***ing p***ed off, because I’d already had the idea.”
Vinnie has openly expressed his admiration for Clarkson’s series before, claiming it’s the “biggest thing to happen” to Britain in ages. Chatting with The Telegraph previously, he stated: “Clarkson’s Farm has been the biggest thing to happen for the country for thirty years. I’m not sure some of these programmes like Springwatch and Countryfile tell a strong enough story for the countryside. Chris Packham goes too much the other way.”

In May, it was disclosed that the TV star is set to share a glimpse into his blossoming relationship with girlfriend Emma Frost. Since the debut of his documentary series, he has found love with Emma after the heartbreaking loss of his cherished wife Tanya, who sadly died in 2019 after battling cancer.
It’s also been reported that he requested for the filming around his new romance to be handled delicately, considering the recent loss of his wife, which continues to affect friends and family.
