1,000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has reportedly had a bit of a moan about her big sister Amanda Halterman, who appears alongside her on the hit TLC reality show
1,000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has apparently claimed she thinks her sister Amanda Halterman is “jealous” over her weight loss.
Siblings Tammy, Amanda and Amy all feature on the TLC reality show, which documents their battle with obesity. All three have shed huge amounts of weight as they have filmed the series, which Tammy and Amy have starred on since 2020 and which Amanda joined later.
Tammy shed an incredible 35 stone following gastric bypass surgery, and according to RadarOnline she now suspects big sis Amanda feels a bit miffed about having her thunder stolen. She apparently shared her thoughts as she chatted to Amy on the show about Amanda not giving her enough credit for her achievement.
“I’ve lost SO much weight,” she was quoted as saying. “I feel like, she’s kinda jealous. The spotlight’s not on her.” She also said Amanda is “not the pretty sister no more”.
A source said: “An insider said: “All three sisters have undergone life-changing surgeries to lose weight, but Amanda is coming out the winner and showing off a figure that could be described as almost svelte, while Tammy and Amy still have a ways to go.”
Tammy had bariatric surgery in 2022 and has since dropped 500lbs. “When I was at my heaviest, I was 700 plus lbs,” she recently said on the show.
“Right now, I’m weighing in at 238. Everybody keeps telling me I’m looking smaller than Amy. That’s kind of hard to believe.”
Mum-of-two Amy had weight loss surgery in 2019, and has dropped over 170lbs. Amanda didn’t join her sisters on the reality show when it first started, but appeared from season four when she too shared her weight struggles.
It was revealed during the series that she had been seen as the slim one of the siblings when they were younger. However, she started to put weight on as she had her family of four children.
She first had bariatric surgery before 1.000lb Sisters was on air, and while she lost a lot of weight she later regained some. The TV star had another surgery in 2023.
Amanda recently revealed her body transformation in snaps on Instagram as she told fans: “I’m learning to love myself enough to accept both the compliments and the constructive criticism, and I can feel myself growing into the person I’m meant to be. I hope you’re finding that too!”
The TLC show debuted in 2020 and it was a huge hit, with viewers gripped by the sisters’ stories. It is now on its seventh series, which started in April.
