All of Brooklyn Beckham’s ‘jobs’ – from sandwich ‘chef’ to safari ‘photographer’

David Beckham celebrated his birthday with his family over the weekend – without Brooklyn Beckham. He’s apparently missed 12 family engagements, but can you blame him when he’s so busy?

Brooklyn Beckham has been a busy boy. He’s been so busy he even managed to miss dad David Beckham’s big 50th birthday bash, which legend said ended after 3am in the morning.

This isn’t the first time the oldest Beckham kid, 26, has missed a family gathering. Insider sources under the roof of Victoria and David claim that Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz,30, have now passed on 12 meet-ups with the rest of the Beckhams.

However, Brooklyn could have good reason for missing out on so much invaluable family time. The lad seems to have a strong work ethic and has got a cracking CV, having built up a lot of experience with his ever-changing career path.

Here, we take a look at busy Brooklyn’s jam packed work history – including his infamous stint as a safari photographer and his attempt of becoming a chef.

Café Barista

In an attempt to humble a 14-year-old Brooklyn, Victoria and David nudged the lad to get a job as a barista. He worked in a undisclosed coffee shop in West London on just £2.68 an hour.

The then-teen took the weekend job behind the counter after his uber-rich parents wanted to keep him “grounded.” He spent several shifts serving drinks and cakes to customers in the capital.

Although a source said Brooklyn “has got the world at his fingertips and could have a life of luxury if he wanted,” they ensured that “the lad is not that way inclined.”

Another source told US Weekly at the time: “It’s all part of him experiencing all walks of life and really working out what he wants to do,” a source told US Weekly at the time.

“Victoria and David are keen for him to experience the things they did when they were his age – retail jobs, assistant jobs, working for free. They want to keep him grounded.”

However, that didn’t last long. A couple of weeks later the couple managed to get Brooklyn work experience at Guy Ritchie’s London film office, SKA Films.

Apparently, Brooklyn was driven to his internship in a Jag.

Incredibly grounded.

Footballer

Brooklyn once tried to follow in his dad’s footsteps on the pitch. He played for Arsenal’s youth team, but he was later released at 16 when he failed to land a scholarship.

In 2015, David told ABC: “One of my boys turned around to me the other day and said, ‘Daddy, I’m not sure I want to play football all the time. He said, ‘Every time I step onto the field, I know people are saying, ‘This is David Beckham’s son’, and if I am not as good as you, then it is not good enough’.”

Model

The lad hung up his football boots for photoshoots as he tried his hand at modelling. He worked as a professional poser in his late teens and early 20s, landing a huge £1million contract with Superdry when he was just 21.

However, like his other occupations – they didn’t last long. In 2022, the big brand announced that they stopped working with Brooklyn as an ‘ambassador’.

At the end, Superdry shared in a statement: “Superdry works with a range of brand ambassadors and enjoyed working with Brooklyn during the launch of our new flagship Oxford Street store and during our Autumn/Winter 21 campaign.

“We always review the ambassadors who feature in our campaigns and decided to work with a different range of talent for Spring/Summer 22.”

Photographer

Posing in front of the camera wasn’t to be for Brooklyn. But, that didn’t stop him from getting onto photoshoots, instead it was behind the lens.

Brooklyn worked as a photographer for a short while, shooting one of the most recognisable pictures of the 21st century. While it probably will not be hung in the Tate Modern for its brilliance, it most certainly landed in the internet hall of fame.

Remember *that* elephant safari pic? Well, if you don’t (perhaps you’ve erased it from your mind), then let us remind you. Brooklyn, with his little-to-none photography training at 18, managed to capture an elephant in the wild.

However, his snap of the world’s largest land mammal wasn’t the most inspiring. In his photography book titled ‘What I See: Brooklyn Beckham’ he featured the piece widely dubbed as ‘terrible’ by critics and pretty much everyone else in the world.

The shadowy pic was titled: ‘elephants in Kenya. So hard to photograph, but incredible to see’. After receiving backlash for the image, Brooklyn spoke to W Magazine: “Some people thought I did [it by] accident, which is why I kind of had to explain it. But, you know, it’s kind of my style.”

Two years prior, he shot a Burberry campaign at the age of 16 – with no real experience. Then, after elephant-gate Brooklyn managed to enrol on a four-year course at Parsons School of Design in New York – a prestigious and hard to get into art school.

But, after just one year, he sacked it off.

Chef

Brooklyn then decided to get into the kitchen and a pursue a career as a chef. Many people picked up new hobbies and leaned into their passions during lockdown, and Brooklyn was not exempt.

However, his attempt of being a cook might have been more infamous than that elephant pic. In October 2022, Brooklyn bagged an appearance on the hit US Today Show where he had a segment to show off his skills.

But, it didn’t land very well. Brooklyn made a bacon, sausage, egg sandwich – with a drizzle of ketchup – in a nod to his British roots. He claimed that he loves making the breakfast sarnie and that it’s ‘special’ to him as his great-grandma taught him how to construct it.

People instantly bashed the Beckham kid on social media, with one social media slating: “So he made a sausage, English bacon, and non-runny egg on…untoasted white bread. With ketchup. Was this meant to be a joke?”

Another added: “Seriously? Embarrassing for everyone involved. Who paid who to get this aired?”

He also started his own cooking tutorial series called Cookin’ With Brooklyn, where she showed viewers how to make sandwiches, burgers and bolognese.

It is believed that the series needed a 62-person crew, which cost $100,000 (£80,000) to film Brooklyn make the likes of fish finger sarnie.

Speaking to The Times about his cooking career at the time, Brooklyn said: “Unfortunately I’ve never done, like, a cooking class, but I’m obsessed with watching MasterChef.”

Entrepreneur

Pivoting away from the kitchen slightly, Brooklyn then decided to get into launching products.

In 2023, Brooklyn launched sake brand WESAKE and opened a pop-up restaurant with Uber Eats. The collaboration advertised his five favourite meals, which included a chicken tikka masala and pork dumplings.

He launched hot sauce brand, Cloud23, which sold out quickly.

The organic spicy sauces were sold alongside merch, including hoodies. He then collaborated with Mora Mora to launch a blue protein smoothie, with 10% of profits going to animal rescue charities.

Race car driver

Fast-forward to now, Brooklyn is now looking for a career in the F1. The lad will be joining 10 other celebs, like Harry Potter’s Tom Felton, for the Formula E’s Evo Sessions, where they will be racing in the super speedy GEN3 Evo race cars.

Although it took Brooklyn seven times to pass his theory driving test, the oldest Beckham child is raring to go after having “loved” motorsport for the entirety of his life.

He has been training with Jaguar and is being guided by racing hero, Mitch Evans, for the race that is being covered on social media and a one-off documentary.

“I’ve loved motorsport all my life, so when the opportunity came to be a part of Evo Sessions with Formula E, I jumped at the chance,” Brooklyn said.

“I love it as a sport, but it’s an incredible opportunity to actually get behind the wheel and experience what it takes to compete at the top level of motorsport.

“The performance of the cars is insane, so I’m pleased I’ll be learning from the best in how to get the most out of them.”

We hope that Brooklyn has finally found his calling. Speaking to the Mail, he said: “My wife, Nicola, was a little bit worried.

“And then she saw me in my race outfit, and she was like, ‘You should do this as a job. You look really good.’ So, I might be changing careers!”
