Naked Attraction host Anna Richardson has opened up about feeling “shame” when it came to dating due to the aftermath of a “traumatising” health condition.

The telly presenter, 54, spoke exclusively to Daily Star and explained: “I’ve been very blessed in that I haven’t had a kind of plethora of health conditions, but there has been some times certainly in terms of fertility and never having had children.

“I had an ectopic pregnancy when I was 21 which nearly killed me, and this was, you know, quite a few years ago now.

“So obviously, if you have an ectopic now, the intervention is much less sort of dramatic. But I had a full cesarean, and it was deeply traumatising, and I felt a shame, maybe that is too strong a word, but I felt very private and traumatised after that.

“Particularly, as a younger woman with a cesarean scar when you go into a new relationship, I felt like I was constantly having to explain why I had such a large scar.

“So, yeah, I can completely identify with why people feel that they don’t necessarily want to engage with certain things. And certainly my case, it was to do with fertility and pregnancy.”

The presenter also shared some huge changes she wants to see for the brand new series of Naked Attraction, if Channel 4 decides to bring it back onto screens.

Anna shared: “I really, really hope so. I mean, we’re still waiting to hear from Channel Four, basically, whether we’re gonna have a new series. “I would love to have a new series of Naked Attraction. I think say it’s cult viewing. It’s really popular. I love it.

“I think that it would be great to sort of change the format up a little bit, bring it on a little bit would be amazing. “But, yeah, watch this space. Channel 4, come on, bring it back!”

When asked what improvements she has in mind for the controversial dating show, she expressed: “I would love to have a live audience. That would be amazing.

“My greatest wish has always been to do it’s a live theatre show, so I think that would be hilarious.

“But if we could do naked on our screens, maybe with an audience. It might be fun to co-present as well with somebody, and just sort of extend the format a little bit, maybe see a bit more of the date, or maybe give people, once they’ve picked their person, maybe give them the choice to reject them pick somebody else in the pod.

“So there’s things, there’s tweaks that we could make to the format.”
