Billie Eilish fans have been forced to defend the singer after she was pictured kissing a man, with some claiming this goes against what she has previously said about her sexuality
Fans of Billie Eilish have been left furious after she was spotted kissing actor Nat Wolff – but not for the reason you might expect. The duo are thought to be dating, and pictures of them kissing emerged online.
However some people quickly jumped on them, accusing Billie, 23, of “turning straight during Pride month”. The Birds Of A Feather songstress has previously opened up about her sexuality, admitting she was surprised people “didn’t know”.
She previously spoke of her attraction to women with Variety, but didn’t realise it was her “coming out” moment. She said: “I just don’t really believe in it. I’m just like, ‘Why can’t we just exist?’ I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. Whoops.”
But it appears some took her words to mean she was exclusively interested in women, or that she was coming out as lesbian.
She would later clarify that she was bisexual, writing on social media: “I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares.”
Many online users clearly do, though, expressing their apparent outrage that she would kiss a man, let alone kiss a man during Pride month, which is June.
They have been met with a furious backlash and accusations of “biphobia”. One said: “Just cause you’d rather see her date a woman than a man doesn’t give you the right to be biphobic or invalidate her sexuality.”
Another wrote: “God forbid a bisexual woman is f****** bisexual? Y’all are so biphobic it’s f****** disgusting. Billie dating a man doesn’t get rid of the fact she likes women! Use your f****** brain cells.”
Someone else tweeted: “The biphobia is so tiring she’s bisexual not a lesbian.”
Another wrote: “I get that the best way to get likes on this app is by being a prat but bi people aren’t required to date a specific amount of men and women to qualify as bi. A lot of you are nasty losers.”
And someone else added: “Why are people so bothered by this? She’s bisexual, meaning she’s sort of allowed to date men. Freaks poking their nose into other people’s lives.”
It’s believed Billie and Nat were friends at first, with him and his brother Alex opening on her Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour last year. But in March of this year, romance rumours were circulating, before the images of them kissing appeared online this weekend.
Nat is an actor and musician, who first found fame as a child by appearing in the Nickelodeon series The Naked Brothers Band.
