Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has spoken out about his romance with actress Elizabeth Hurley after the pair sent fans into a frenzy over the Easter weekend
Days after their surprise romance left fans gobsmacked, Billy Ray Cyrus has spilled the beans on his whirlwind relationship with bombshell Elizabeth Hurley. The country crooner dished the dirt on their unexpected love during Apple Music Country’s The Ty Bentli Show – almost a week following Liz’s Instagram post that sent the internet into meltdown.
Over the Easter holiday, Liz, 59, posted a cheeky picture on Instagram of the 63-year-old singer pecking her on the cheek at her quaint countryside pad. Now, thanks to the outspoken singer, we’ve got the details of how this unlikely pair hooked up.
On the show, he said: “I felt like, ‘Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?’ For me, at a certain point it was like, you can’t get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you,” adding: “And in this moment… a friend reached out.”
He fessed up he hadn’t a clue who was lending a hand initially, saying: “So, I text back, I go, ‘Who is this?’ And it’s like, ‘Elizabeth Hurley.’ Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh.”
The dynamic duo had lost touch for two years since shooting their 2022 flick, Christmas In Paradise. Yet, the Achy Breaky Heart belter recalled their spark on set and they quickly rekindled where they left off, reports the Mirror.
“We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn’t laughing a lot,” he confessed. “The oddest part was first, how much we laughed. Second, I figured we were so different but in some very strange way we had way more in common than we had different.”
He described his former co-star and new flame as an amazing person, admiring her as a “great human being” and compared her to Dolly Parton. Praising her business acumen, he added: “If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything.”
Billy Ray couldn’t help but express his excitement over their recent “reveal” photo and promised fans that more loved-up snaps are on the horizon. He humorously remarked: “There will be one coming where she’s kissing me because people have been saying, “Why’s he always kissing her?
” When she presents her cheek, apparently, I can’t resist but kiss it.”
Liz Hurley’s son, Damian, reportedly helped spark the adorable romance by being behind the lens for their initial cute social media post.
Moreover, it appears Damian moving out of the family abode has led Liz to seek companionship elsewhere. A source dished the details to the Mail, stating: “The new relationship is filling a void because Damian has moved out.
“He’s bagged himself a place in Earl’s Court [west London] so even though they’re still thick as thieves and hang out loads, it’s not just mother and son at home now.”
The insider revealed: “It only really took off about six weeks ago, although he was texting her a lot before then – I guess for a few months before. He has been writing her the most beautiful texts three or four times a day. She says they are almost like poetry. Saying how beautiful and young and sexy she is.”
