Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel are both arriving on a free UK streaming platform.
Get ready to slay all over again, because the iconic Buffy the Vampire Slayer series is landing on ITVX for free from tomorrow (April 3) in the UK. Fans can binge-watch all seven seasons of the supernatural drama, and if that’s not enough, the beloved spin-off Angel will swoop onto the platform a month later on May 1.
The brainchild of Joss Whedon, Buffy the Vampire Slayer haunted our screens from 1997 to 2003, originating from Whedon’s 1992 film. Despite its age, the show continues to stake its claim in the hearts of new fans daily.
Buffy enthusiasts have more to cheer about with whispers of a reboot stirring the cauldron, featuring none other than the original vampire-slaying queen Sarah Michelle Gellar, who’s tipped to grace the screen once more in a recurring role and flex her muscles as an executive producer.
But before we get to witness the return of the Buffyverse on our tellies, Brits can relive the magic of the 90s hit show in full force.

ITVX teases Buffy the Vampire Slayer with a synopsis that reads: “After moving to Sunnydale, California, Buffy Anne Summers (Sarah Michelle Geller) just wants to be a normal teenager.
“Back in Los Angeles, her first Watcher had died, she inadvertently burned down the gymnasium at her old high school, and her parents got a divorce.
“The move to Sunnydale is supposed to give both Buffy and her mother Joyce a clean slate, but she then meets school librarian Rupert Giles and quickly learns that there is no escaping her destiny.
“With Giles as her new Watcher, Buffy reluctantly steps back into her role as the Slayer – however, this time she is not fighting alone.
“Buffy now has an inner circle of special friends – Willow, Xander, Cordelia, and a mysterious young man named Angel – ready to join the fight and drive in a stake or two if need be.”
In addition to Geller, other Buffy cast alumni include fan favourite James Marsters, How I Met Your Mother’s Alyson Hannigan, Bones star David Boreanaz, Ted Lasso actor Anthony Head and the late Gossip Girl actress Michelle Trachtenberg, who tragically passed away in February, 2025.
Several Buffy cast members also featured in the spin-off show Angel, which is set to premiere on ITVX next month, reports the Mirror.
The synopsis for Angel reads: “A centuries-old vampire cursed with a conscience, Angel (David Boreanaz) has left the small California town of Sunnydale and the only woman he ever loved to take up residence in the City of Angels.
“Between the pervasive evil and countless temptations lurking beneath the city’s glittering facade, Los Angeles proves to be the ideal address for a fallen vampire looking to save a few lost souls – and in turn perhaps redeem his own by restoring hope to those locked in a losing battle with their own demons.”
For vampire genre enthusiasts, The Vampire Diaries, Vampire Diaries: Legacies and The Originals are also currently available to stream on ITVX.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is streaming from Thursday, April 3 on ITVX.
