Calvin Harris devastated as pet dies after being ‘murdered’ by neighbour’s dog

Calvin Harris has expressed his fury after the tragic death of his cherished pet, alleging they were “murdered” by his neighbours.

The DJ, who has recently become a father for the first time, posted a photograph of himself cradling Smokey whilst delivering the heartbreaking news.

He honoured the cockerel with a tribute alongside an image of himself shirtless in his expansive garden. Calvin penned: “RIP Smokey we love you. Raised this lad from chick to a majestic cockerel.”

The music producer raged: “Murdered by the idiot neighbours grimey dog. Absolutely gutted,” reports the Mirror.

This devastating news comes merely a week after Calvin announced he had become a father with Vick Hope. Just seven days ago, he revealed the joyous news that the pair had welcomed a baby boy on July 20.

He posted heartwarming photographs from their home as they’ve been cocooned in their blissful bubble. The ‘One Kiss’ creator Calvin unveiled the very first image of his newborn son and revealed the beautifully distinctive name the couple have selected for their firstborn.

Accompanied by a touching photo of their baby nestled against his father’s chest, Calvin declared: “20th of July our boy arrived. Micah is here! My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom! Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah.”

Within the series of images Calvin posted announcing Micah’s arrival, it emerged that Vick had opted for a water birth, pictured in a blue birthing pool encircled by flickering candles. The new mum welcomed her son outdoors on a balcony, with a stunning backdrop of lush greenery and trees creating a picturesque setting.

One touching snapshot captured Calvin crouched beside his partner, appearing to be taken mere moments after little Micah entered the world. The Scottish DJ’s Instagram update also included a surprising element as he shared an image of Vick’s placenta before revealing how the pair decided to preserve it.

This method involves steaming, dehydrating, and processing the placenta into capsules for ingestion. Calvin and Vick opted to keep their expecting news private for as long as they could before eventually revealing their joyful announcement in late May.

Vick shared the exciting news with her followers during her final BBC Radio 1 programme before beginning her maternity break. She revealed: “I should say that this is my final week.

“I wanted to share that with you because we’ve had such a lovely time over the last few weeks. That time is coming to an end for a bit because I’m going on maternity leave next week.”

Ex-Made In Chelsea personality Jamie Laing chimed in saying: “You’re an amazing friend, an amazing person, and you’re just going to be an amazing mum.”

Vick then explained her reasons for not making a formal pregnancy announcement. She clarified: “This is not an announcement, by the way. People keep saying are you going to announce, are you going to announce? And I’m like, I’m not the King. I do not see the point, it’s not for me. I’ll be honest, I struggle with anything that’s personal or private.

“I will tell you a story about eating a kebab out of a bin, that’s one thing. But there’s a line and so I’ve never been that big on sharing. Particularly because I’ve just been enjoying this privately and quietly.”
