Daisy May Cooper flashed her sparkling engagement ring just weeks after getting engaged to her new man.

The BAFTA-winning actress was all smiles as she stepped out in York on Monday (March 24) with her husband-to-be, Ant. The couple were pictured in public for the first time since reports of their “secret” engagement and looked as loved up as ever in the sun.

Daisy proudly showed off her £10k engagement ring as they arrived at the Everyman Theatre in York. The Rain Dogs star was sporting the stunning rock on top of a tattoo which was dedicated to her ex-husband, but she’s now covered it up with fresh ink.

Daisy tied the knot with Will Weston in 2019 – the pair share daughter Pip and son Jack. However, they split up just months after Jack was born.

The actress shared details of her “scary” and difficult birth last year as Benji, her third child, arrived “earlier than expected”. She shared snaps of her clad in a hospital gown in a bed at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Gloucester and praised the delivery team at the specialist unit.

In her caption, she wrote: “What a bloody week…You came a bit earlier than we expected and gave me the worst post op constipation that I nearly had to phone the Samaritans but my god you are perfect.

“I cannot thank @deliverysuitegrh enough. The way you looked after us through such a scary time was above and beyond.”

Daisy rounded off her adorable post with the words: “Welcome to the world little Benji, ya nutter Born 06/06/24.” It was revealed in March that This Country Star Daisy was expecting her third child, along with artist Ant.

She has revealed that she’s finally understood what “love” is thanks to being Ant. Daisy told The Sun: “Now I understand a relationship shouldn’t be rowing at 3am […] That’s not what love is.

“Love is being able to live together on a day-to-day basis, enjoying each other’s company, being completely yourself and having that accepted. He doesn’t want to compete with me. He earns £1,500 a month and he’s the sweetest, kindest, most chilled-out man.”

Daisy realised she wasn’t in love with Will when she gave birth to their son Jack in lockdown. She told the Radio Times it was during lockdown and that her husband Will wasn’t allowed in, and that it was then that she knew she couldn’t go back to him.

“Because I was actually loving it with all the nurses and all the women,” she said. “I felt dread at bringing the baby back home. Isn’t that terrible?”

The star described Will as “a lovely man” but admitted she “just wasn’t in love with him” and that “he wasn’t particularly in love” with her either. They split up and went their separate ways in the summer of 2021 and the comedian later said that she didn’t think there had actually been “real love” there.

Opening up to The Times, she said Will was an “incredible” father to Pip and Jack. But speaking of their relationship, she added: “Fundamentally, there wasn’t real love there. I don’t think there ever was, really. It’s weird. And I think he sort of agrees with that too.”
