The Rock has now revealed that he endured a horrifying moment while riding over the ocean in his private jet. He was meant to fly across to Houston, Texas for the opening weekend of the United Football League’s second season, but a technical issue with the plane forced them to turn around and go home to Hawaii.

He took to social media with a video, where he told fans about the scary incident. “Last night, we had some issues with the plane,” he began in the clip. About 35-40 minutes into the flight, the pilot comes back to me.

“He gets down on one knee, and he faces me, face-to-face, and it’s just me on the plane, me and the crew, and he says, “Mr Johnson, I’m sorry to inform you that we cannot continue to fly over the ocean”. The pilot told Dwayne that they had a “problem” that meant they had to fly back to Hawaii.

The pilot gave the film star his “word” that he would land “safely on the island” and obviously managed to do so. “I so appreciate his demeanour,” Dwayne said. “His name was Captain David. I appreciate his demeanour in that moment, and he said it was a hydraulics issue with the overheating.

“He said there are some issues we can work out while we’re in the air, but there are some issues we’re not gonna take a chance, especially over the ocean.” The WWE star admitted that the air scare forced him to think about what’s “really important in life.”

“When you’re back there alone with just your drink, and you’re thinking about this, you’ve got everything crossed, hoping you’ll make it back safely. You start to realise really quickly the s*** that’s really important in life. Then you realise the s*** that doesn’t matter that you’ve been worrying about. I had one of those moments last night.

“Bottom line is, I’m grateful to be back on the ground, grateful to be back home in Hawaii. I appreciate God, the universe… I took this as a sign from God and the universe. I wish though I was there in Houston, Texas.”

The pro wrestler said he is “super bummed” to have missed out on the Texas trip but is “so grateful” to be alive. “‘Let’s have a great season 2 opening weekend, have fun, and ball out,” he told followers.

Dwayne was inundated with supportive messages from fans after announcing the loss of Hobbs. In his emotional tribute, Dwayne wrote: “RIP [broken heart emoji] Hobbs. I’ve been numb over this loss, but we’re so grateful for every ounce of pure love he gave our entire family and we’re so grateful he didn’t suffer long as he quietly and bravely left in the night.

“Lately, there’s been a lot that’s too big to talk about. Lonesome, lonely, heard it’s all the same. One of my favorite songs felt appropriate here, as I wonder what’s going on his new world, because I know what it’s like in mine. Not sure how spirits work but come back and visit every once in a while so we can get in trouble and laugh again.”

One fan in the comments wrote: “so sorry to hear this Dwayne. I lost my 10 y/o frenchie 6 weeks ago today so I know exactly how you feel & how much it hurts [broken heart emoji]. Find comfort in knowing that you gave him the best life possible and that he passed peacefully.”

Another commented: “Sorry for your loss. I know how it feels when you lose a pet.” A third penned: “He lived in love, that’s what’s important. RIP [heart amoji]”.
