Eagle-eyed Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have worked out who killed Nate Robinson through clues, after a rare and horrifying glimpse into the future at New Year
Emmerdale fans think they’ve figured out who’s behind the murder of Nate Robinson (played by Jurell Carter), after Amy Wyatt (Natalie Jamieson) spotted his body in the icy lake following the horrific limo crash.
In dramatic scenes last month, Amy, before her tragic end, managed to whisper Nate’s name to Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), but it’s still not confirmed whether he heard it. Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) is still on edge waiting for news from her currently missing husband, Nate, who ran off for a new life in Shetland. Despite Tracy’s efforts to get in touch after the limo disaster that took three lives, Nate’s is still not responding to her calls.
Adding another layer of mystery, the ITV soap showed several flash-forwards at New Year, giving viewers a glimpse into the coming year. Among these was a spine-chilling shot of someone trapped under a frozen lake and another showing fan-favourite Mack (Lawrence Robb) apparently running scared.
The Emmerdale fanbase is now buzzing with speculation that Mack is running from the lake after ditching Nate’s body. But the general consensus is that he’s not the murderer – instead, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is suspected of secretly offing her own stepson.
Last year saw Moira’s brain tumour go unnoticed for a while, leading to unusual violent fits and hallucinations, which fans think could have led to this sad turn of events, reports OK!.
The old flames between Moira and Nate were sparked again. In a barn-dust scene, Moira nearly went in for a kiss with Nate, leading Caleb Miligan (played by the talented William Ash) to catch them.
He then told Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) – Moira’s other half.
Cain was furious and visited Nate to confront him, throwing accusations his way about moving in on Moira. Although Nate swore he was innocent, he didn’t hang about – instead fleeing to Shetland.
The dedicated Emmerdale watchers have been mulling over theorise. They think Moira could’ve hurt Nate without meaning to, and brother Mackenzie might have swooped in to cover up the supposed disaster to protect his ill sister.
One Facebook user suggested: “Do you think maybe Moira killed Nate due to her brain tumour and doesn’t have a clue. Hence why you seen Mackenzie running through the woods in fast forward episode. Hence why may have witnessed it and he was the one who hid Nate’s body in the lake to protect Moira. Probably wrong, but a different theory.”
Someone else added: “Yeah like it but who’s got his phone and sent Frankie birthday present.”
Fans are rallying behind the theory, with one commenting: “Yes that sounds really good thought”, while another speculated: “I think That whoever killed Nate will get away with it. That’s an interesting theory actually he did chase her into the woods that time when she had the seizure would make sense’,” a fan pondered.
Another viewer chimed in: “It crossed my mind that it was Moira.”
