Sitcom legend Kelsey Grammer is set to be a dad again at the age of 70.

The actor, famed for playing Dr Frasier Crane in Cheers and its spin-off Frasier, is already a father of seven. He’s getting ready to do it all over again as he’s set to welcome his fourth child with wife Kayte Walsh, 46, whom he married in 2011.

Kayte confirmed the pregnancy on Tuesday (June 17) when she sported a baby bump in a draped dress during a family outing with Kelsey in London. It’s said the pregnancy was unexpected but has “reignited a spark” in their marriage that was needed.

The couple haven’t yet confirmed the pregnancy but a source told the Daily Mail: “Kelsey is thrilled to finally have time to fully enjoy being a father all over again.

“He’s been incredibly supportive of Kayte throughout this pregnancy, which, though unexpected, has reignited a spark in their marriage that they both needed. This will be their fourth child together, and with Kelsey’s other three children from his past marriages, their new bundle of joy will have so much love.

“After giving Frasier one last go, he has hung his hat up on that character and is ready for the next phase of his life. He is looking forward to embracing the hands-on parenting he missed in the past.”

Kelsey and Kayte are parents to daughter Faith, 12, and sons Kelsey Grabriel, 10, and Auden Ellis, eight. The star also has four other children from previous relationships.

He shares son Spencer, 41, with first wife Doreen Alderman, Greer, 33, with ex-girlfriend Barrie Buckner and Mason, 23, and Jude, 20, with his RHOBH star ex-wife, Camille Grammer.

The actor has admitted he regrets ‘neglecting’ his kids in the past and is trying to “make up” for it later in life. In May, he told People: “I have neglected a couple of the kids in my life, especially the first two.

“I’m trying to make up for a little of it now. I’m still their dad, so you can always have [a] chance to show up.”

He added: “I probably should have been a little more clear and maybe less tolerant with the older ones. I’m pretty tolerant with the young ones, but I’m clear about how there’s certain expectations and certain ways to navigate through a social situation: keep it close to the vest and play it straight, and you’re going to be well-served in your life.

“I’m a little more specific with them about doing their studies and being prepared. [I tell them], ‘What’s your job in life? Showing up.'”
