Harry Potter fans can get a sneak peek of what’s in store for the upcoming HBO series – as the new cast can be seen shooting the infamous zoo scene with the Dursleys
Calling all Potter fans! Here is the first glimpse of the new HBO series as the cast can be seen shooting the famous zoo scene.
These are the very first pictures from the set of the brand new Harry Potter TV series and fans will be able to spot a young Harry (played by Dominic McLaughlin) on his day out with the Dursleys at London Zoo.
Making their debut on screen as the brand-new cast of Harry Potter, the characters are all gathered to watch the penguin show, including grumpy Uncle Vernon (played by Daniel Rigby), Aunt Petunia (Bel Powley), Dudley Dursley (Amos Kitson) and his partner-in-crime Piers Polkiss (Jason Boyd).
In the pictures, Dominic can be seen playing Harry with ruffled brown hair and his signature specs on, whereas Dudley star Amos and Piers star Jason can be seen sitting on the side lines scheming against poor Harry.
In other snaps Vernon star Daniel and Petunia star Bel can be seen waiting around on set and getting their makeup touched up by crew as they prepare to film the zoo scene.
This comes after a new snap was released by HBO that features the 11-year-old actor kitted out as Harry, complete with the character’s signature specs, black Hogwarts garb, and crimson Gryffindor gear. The lad beams at the camera in the image, which reveals that the cameras are now rolling on set.
HBO had also revealed fresh faces joining the young star, including Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom. Sherlock’s Louise Brealey is set to portray Quidditch coach Madam Hooch, while Andor’s Anton Lesser will take on the role of wandmaker Mr Ollivander.
These actors will join the previously announced Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
Executive producers Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod have praised the trio leading the cast as Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Back in May, they gushed: “The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen.”
They added: “We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It’s been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”
