Hollywood actor who vanished for 10 years returns as fans beg for one thing

A beloved Hollywood actor has made a surprise return after a decade long hiatus following a string of stalking incidents, including a man with a gun who pretended to be his father

A Hollywood action star is returning to the spotlight.

Josh Hartnett, 46, has appeared in Oppenheimer, The Faculty, Pearl Harbour, Black Hawk Down, Trap, Lucky Number Slevin and 30 Days of Night. He recently made a rare social media post with a selfie and a cheeky caption.

The actor leaned over the camera and captured a shot of his face with a ceiling light and wrote: “Me promoting my film before ghosting social media for another 10 years.”

His new film Fight of Flight has received an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 100% and is set to release on 9 May. Despite the perfect rating, fans were more concerned with his potential return to the online world and begged him to stick around.

One person said: “What the hell? Josh Harnett?” as another wrote: “Please Josh, you need to come back (actually come back).”

Someone else said they “never thought they’d see” him return to social media while another fan wrote in disbelief: “2035 is shaking in its boots right now trying to figure out how to top that.”

Others wrote: “Let’s go,” “As you should” and: “Oh Josh,” with red heart and laughing emojis.

Josh previously stepped back from the online world and left Los Angeles after a string of stalking incidents.

He previously admitted that he was influenced by “borderline unhealthy” fans with an obsession with The Virgin Suicides actor. He spoke to The Guardian about his struggles with fame.

“People’s attention to me at the time was borderline unhealthy. There were incidents. People showed up at my house. People that were stalking me.”

Josh said that when he was just 27, a man “showed up at one of his premieres with a gun” and “claimed to be his father”.

“There were lots of things. It was a weird time. And I wasn’t going to be grist for the mill.”

In his new film Fight or Flight, Hartnett plays as assassin tasked with protecting a VIP client while flying on a plane. In a savage s twist, it turns out a number of assassins are on board.

Charithra Chandran, Julian Kostov, Katee Sackhoff and Marko Zaror all star in the James Madigan directed project. This film also marks Madigan’s feature-length debut.
