EXCLUSIVE: Danny Jones and Maura Higgins have hit the headlines after they were caught sharing a ‘drunken kiss’ at the BRITs after party – now a fellow ITV star has weighed in
An ITV star has given their hot take on the Danny Jones and Love Island’s Maura Higgins ‘drunken kiss’.
Olivia Attwood’s Getting Filthy Rich star Chrissie Wunna has weighed in on the drama after the pair were filmed ‘kissing’ at a BRITs after party. Despite fans going wild due to Danny being married to his wife Georgia for the past 11 years, Chrissie didn’t see much wrong with the close encounter.
Naked Attraction star Chrissie said: “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the kiss. It was hardly a snog filled with passion, they don’t even touch each other loving and just a couple pecks.
“I mean..it’s kinda the northern way. We all hug and kiss each other all the time, as a greeting as a farewell and there’s really nothing in it. I’ve been kissed ten zillion times by northern boys when just leaving a pub, and it’s literally just to say ‘bye, see you soon.’
“And I just think people have read far too much into it all. I’m definitely sure Danny adores his wife.
“And I’m definitely sure it was all innocent and chilled. Obviously to watch, it’s not the nicest thing for his wife to see and I wouldn’t like to watch someone I love do that. However, there doesn’t seem to be anything in it other than a peck? It just seems so weird that it’s being turned into a huge scandal.”

She told us: “Danny and Maura’s kisses wouldn’t really register as notable for either of them. Whether drunk or sober, the kisses appear meaningless from a romantic standpoint.
“Danny stands in a confident position during the brief moment when we see them kissing – he’s got his hands in his pockets in a chilled-out, secure stance, with his feet a little way apart. This is the pose of a man enjoying the adoration of a fan, not a loverboy trying to ravish a lady. He’s not even leaning towards her. He’s not reaching out to hold her.
“Maura’s hands never embrace him – she appears to peck him on the cheek initially, snowing affection like kissing a younger cousin.
“She then leans in for another kiss, and Danny turns his head sideways, more receptive to this peck. Their lips meet, but they’re still not touching with the rest of their bodies, not hugging, not leaning on each other; there’s nothing sensual between them.”
