Former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson says he’s lost “full mobility” in his arm after he smashed up a TV in a cliche rock ‘n’ roll move
Louis Tomlinson has revealed the truth behind his gnarly scar on his arm.
For years, the former One Direction star has been telling fans he broke his arm when he fell over after a concert. However, he actually sustained the injury when he attempted a cliché rock ‘n’ roll move of smashing up a hotel TV.
Louis confessed: “I can’t remember what I told the public at this point, but when my last album Faith In The Future came out, it went a lot better than I imagined it would have, and at the end of the release date, I planned this big night out.
“But I got a little bit too drunk before I got to the night, just celebrating, you know? I don’t take enough moments like that.
“But long story short, I decided to drop kick a TV thinking that it would be funny. I then ended up falling on my arm and caused this pretty bad scar.
“I over-celebrated too early to the extent of altering my body for the rest of my life.”
Louis was later pictured with his arm in a sling when he received his Official Charts No1 trophy.
He’s still having trouble with it more than three years later: “I thought I was some UFC star and landed on my shoulder, kind of upside down and I ruined that night.
“I still don’t have full mobility, I’ll never be the same again.”
It’s not the first time booze has led Louis astray. He admitted he and his 1D bandmates have done similar, but insisted it’s not a “cry for help” but a “moronic” move.
And admitted he took things too far in Las Vegas: “It was actually on the last tour, but I did a show in Vegas, a little bit like Ibiza, every minute I spend not out in Vegas or Ibiza, I can hear it calling me, it’s guilting me.
“And I knew there was a pool party on on the day of the show and so I just couldn’t help myself and thought ‘maybe if I go to the pool party, don’t get too drunk I should be alright’.
“There was definitely moments of that show that felt like just survival.”
Louis’ album How Did I Get Here is out next month.
