Love Island hit with Ofcom complaints over ‘bullying’ after explosive villa row

Love Island has sparked outrage with viewers.

The show has received 56 Ofcom complaints over a bullying dispute. Speaking to the Mirror, an Ofcom spokesperson confirmed the backlash centred around “alleged bullying involving Toni and Shakira towards Emily” on the ITV2 show.

Two contestants, Shakira, 22, and Toni, 24, have been slammed by telly fans for allegedly ‘ganging up’ on fellow islander Emily, also 24, in recent scenes. The episode saw tensions rise as Toni blasted Emily for being overly inquisitive, branding her interactions with others.

During a chat with Meg, Toni was overheard saying: “I can’t listen to her. ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ all the time.”

In another part of the show, a clearly irritated Toni was caught saying: “Emily’s just f**king nosey”, reports the Mirror.

Shakira later confronted Emily and told her: “I feel like in situations, it’s a case of reading the room a little bit…I feel like you’ve not made an effort with us.”

Daily Star has contacted ITV for a comment on the matter.

Elsewhere in Love Island news, fans have been left raging that two fan favourites have received “no screen time” in recent episodes.

Alima and Remell are coupled up and have been getting to know each other, but viewers are completely stumped as to why producers aren’t showing the pair’s blossoming romance.

Fans on X/Twitter called out the ITV show and one person even made a Missing Person poster for “our girl Alima,” which included a line that read: “Status: M.I.A. [missing in action] from screen time, confessionals and plotlines [….] allegedly in the villa but might as well be in Narnia.”

Someone else tweeted: “Nah, Love Island producers have absolutely mocked it by not showing us any Remell & Alima scenes…no idea how they are even progressing until a recoupling speech??”
