Love Island is about to kick off for another summer of love and fans have now been given a sneak peek this year’s love nest as the singletons prepare to meet one another
Love Island bosses have made a big change to the show’s villa to make the new series the hottest in history.
A new intimate area has been added to the outdoor section for contestants to enjoy. It is a trampoline across the swimming pool that has capacity for four people to be on at the same time.
It has been added to encourage the sexy singletons to get close. Executive producer Mike Spencer-Hayter predicts there will be some racy behaviour on it.
He told the Daily Star: “The trampoline is nice. You can all sit there and enjoy the sun. You can see everything from there, so you can see what’s going on.
“I don’t think you would have sex on there, but it can take the weight of four people. But you can gossip or get off with each other.”
Bosses are planning to air any X-rated antics that happen on the trampoline. Mike said: “If that happens, we show it. The trampoline is a lovely place to canoodle.”
Bosses also plan to open the villa’s Hideaway for 24 hours a day. It means couples can get away from their rivals if they want to. Mike said: “The Hideaway will be open for business.”
The Hideaway has been given a makeover to make it look more chic for the new series. Mike added: “We just wanted to make it a bit more sophisticated. It’s about keeping the show fresh and exciting.”
The villa has also been changed to make it more green. Producers are keen to be environmentally friendly. A bike has been installed that will generate electricity when contestants use it. They will be able to charge smartphones as they ride
There are also plenty of solar panels at the luxury pad in Majorca. It’s hoped the stunts will create enough power for the entire series.
Mike said: “We’ve made quite a few changes with sustainability. We’re looking at ways to be greener and we’ll look to make even more changes next year.”
Other changes to the villa include ditching baths, so contestants will only have showers. The terrace has also been given a new exterior so people can get a better look at what’s going on in the kitchen and around the swimming pool.
Bean bags have also been ditched in favour of stylish seats.
The new series kicks off on Monday at 9pm on ITV1.
