EXCLUSIVE: Love Island 2025 beauty Helena Ford has revealed that she’s left her cabin crew job ahead of her time in the ITV villa, where she’ll be looking for love rather than luggage
Love Island 2025 star Helena Ford has confirmed she’s left her day job ahead of her villa stint.
The 29-year-old from London worked as cabin crew for British Airways, a job that has seen her jet around the world to places like Dubai, Australia, South Africa, and the Maldives. But her next destination is Marbella as she’s setting foot in the Love Island villa in the hopes of finding love.
The blonde beauty has revealed she’s decided to leave her jet-setting job ahead of her appearance on the new series, which kicks off next Monday (June 9) at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. Helena said she couldn’t tell her bosses exactly why she was leaving, but did tell them she was starring on a TV show.
She told Daily Star: “So yeah, I have actually left [my job] but they’ve said that I could go back, which is good. Always nice to have the option!”
Asked if they warned her that they wouldn’t have her back if she got up to any trouble in the villa, she said: “They actually didn’t. I couldn’t tell them exactly what I was doing, but I said I was going on a TV show, and they were like ‘oh my god, this is amazing, this is great. You need to do it.’
Helena didn’t reveal what her career plans were after the villa, but seemed grateful that the door was still open for her to return if she wanted to. She added: “Just keeping my options open, like obviously I can still go back to British Airways.”
“I just said is the option to come back there for me, and she was like ‘Of course, we’d welcome you back with open arms.’ So yeah, they were really positive about the whole idea.”
She then joked: “I mean, there might be a few things that if I did do them they might not let me back in!”. Many past Islanders, such as Maura Higgins, Tasha Ghouri and Indiyah Polack, have gone on to achieve successful TV careers and scored huge brand deals after the villa.
The 29-year-old admitted she’s nervous about doing the Love Island talent show and the infamous heart rate challenge. She also revealed she’s ‘freaked out’ by the idea of sleeping in a room with all of her co-stars.
Helena admits she tends to go for “blonde pretty boys”, but it seems like a sense of humour is the most attractive trait to her. She said: “I feel like Northern people have much more banter than Southerners.
“If you look through my previous dating history, you’ll see I clearly go for personality. You can pretty much laugh me into bed.”
Love Island returns Monday, June 9 to ITV2 and ITVX
