Masked Singer judge ‘useless’ as all his guesses were ‘f**king shocking’

Last year’s winner Danny Jones returned to help unmasked the singers this year – but the McFly man admits he was less than useful

Danny Jones was useless when he joined the panel on The Masked Singer. The 2024 champion returned to the show to be a guest detective for this year’s final to help regulars Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross.

But while filming his appearance, he really struggled when it came to working out who the mystery contestants were. This is after Bear and Brush were revealed yesterday.

Danny said: “It was amazing to be back on the show. But my guesses were absolutely f***ing shocking! You’re looking at the performances and there are the costumes and all the dancers and then the voice. When you’re on the panel, you have no clue who they are. It’s so hard. You just have no idea. It’s crazy.”

Despite finding it tough to guess, being back on the show was a dream for Danny.

The McFly hunk said: “It was amazing to get to be on the panel. When I got asked to do it, I was all in.”

Since competing as Piranha last year, Danny has become hooked on the show, which is now in its sixth series.

The singer, who also won I’m A Celebrity, said: “I only started watching The Masked Singer a year before I did it. With these shows, you become obsessed. I saw everybody’s reaction to it and you think, ‘I get it now, I get why people love it’. It’s a great entertainment show.”

Wolf, Pufferfish and Dressed Crab will be competing for victory in this weekend’s final.

McFly’s Danny was crowned the 2024 winner of The Masked Singer as he was unmasked as Piranha.

The judges were shocked to see the dad-of-one under the mask, but it didn’t take long before they showered the hitmaker with compliments. Rita gushed: “You have one of the best voices I have ever heard. Danny I want an album this year!”

Rob Brydon added: “If we’ve learnt anything it’s time to dump those losers and go it alone. Those guys have been holding you back.” It was at this point that Danny cheekily agreed: “They’ve been holding me back all this time!”

The musician went on to reveal how much he enjoyed being a part of the show, which has allowed him to discover a higher pitch in his voice. He confessed: “I can sing even higher now. There’s a whole new tone to my voice.”
