Earlier this year, Maya Jama made her relationship with Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias official on Instagram. Judging by her recent posts, it seems their bond has only grown stronger.
Taking a break from her filming commitments, Maya spent some quality time with Ruben in Ibiza. One photo shows Maya snuggled up to Ruben, laughing shyly, while he leans his head towards hers in a tender moment. Maya also shared photos of her toned figure, with the Love Island presenter stripping down to a green bikini. Other snaps feature Maya cycling and enjoying the scenic beauty of the enchanting island. She captioned the post: “la isla de la magia.”
Fans were quick to react, with one commenting: “Winning at life.” Many others expressed their feelings with heart emojis, reports the Mirror.
This isn’t the first time Maya has shared holiday photos of the couple. The TV presenter first posted romantic pictures of them together on holiday back in January.
Rumours about Maya and Ruben’s relationship began swirling around New Year’s Eve last year, following their encounter at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester in November.
This came just a few months after Maya’s second public split from rapper Stormzy. Maya and Stormzy started dating in 2014 and their relationship spanned five years before their initial split.
Reflecting on the reasons behind their split, Maya shared in an interview: “We were so young when we met, just beginning our careers. I was starting at MTV. He’d not even released a single at that point. We were just little babies.”
She continued: “I don’t think either of us knew it was going to be such a big thing. We were just: we’re young and in love and we’re going to go for it and work really hard. We’re just together. We never really did red carpets. We didn’t do any of that stuff.”
Back in 2018, Stormzy had hinted at marriage during an interview with the Sunday Mirror, saying: “I’m still so young but I want to propose, it’s going to happen and I will do it right. She is so sick, she is the best.”
Years later, the couple gave their relationship another shot, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out. They officially ended their romance in July 2024.
In a joint statement, they said: “We tried and it didn’t work and that’s okay.”
