Miley Cyrus has revealed her latest tattoo is a tribute to her mother Tish Cyrus. The 32 year old songbird, known for her eclectic ink collection, has gone and got “muse” tattooed on her shoulder after she called her mum exactly that at the Chanel Tribeca Festival Women’s Luncheon in The Big Apple.

She was out in full force to support the Through Her Lens programme, hosted at the Greenwich Hotel Courtyard on June 6. Chatting to People, Miley spilled the beans on her latest ink, revealing: “It says ‘muse’. And it’s really for her, because my mom is my muse.”

She also confessed: “My mom was going to get matching with me, but she was out of town.”

Miley unveiled the snazzy new shoulder tat – etched by the talented Michelle Santana at Bang Bang Tattoo – ahead of the do on Instagram.

The fresh marking joins a treasure trove of body art that she’s racked up over the years, something she opened up about during a chinwag with the New York Times, admitting she’s not completely chuffed with all her tats.

“A mistake that I made that I still think about is like 80 percent of my tattoos,” she admitted.

And Miley went on to say: “I don’t regret them enough to laser them, but some of them, like… I mean I love my cat, but like, I didn’t need that… there’s just a few I could do without.”

This touching nod to her mum with the ‘muse’ ink has cropped up amid whispers of a tiff between Miley and Tish, 58, sparked when fans noticed the singer’s ma had seemingly hit unfollow on her daughter on social media.

Miley took to her Instagram Stories in May to squash the rumours about a rift with her mum. “I rarely comment on rumours, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us,” she penned.

She further clarified: “She’s my best friend. Like a lot of moms, she doesn’t know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me – simple, coincidental, and uninteresting.”

Tish confirmed to People that the social media snafu was unintentional, admitting she had “no idea how that happened” and had since re-followed Miley.

Reflecting on what matters most, Miley shared: “Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.”

Miley also dished details about her forthcoming visual album, Something Beautiful, which will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival later this month. The visual album explores various chapters of her life through film.

When quizzed by People if she categorises her life into distinct eras, Miley responded: “I don’t see anything, I feel like, with a divide.”

She expressed her love for the present moment, stating: “I do love this flow of whatever is real in the moment totally is valuable and exists and that’s what the movie is a celebration of is that everything gets to coexist in not a way that’s lost but actually found.”
