Oasis fans have been basking in the biblical glory of their homecoming – but some might say this joy will be short lived, with many believing the feud could return
Many Oasis fans have expressed fears that the Gallagher brothers might split before completing their reunion tour.
As the band continue their performances in Heaton Park tonight (July 20) for their last homecoming gig, with 70,000 bucket hat-laden fans scrambling to the area. However, some might say the brothers could call an end before they make it to Wembley next week. According to a new survey from Betfair Slots, 55% believe the once-feuding siblings will see the concert tour through without going their separate ways, while 45% remain less hopeful.
When it comes to the reunion itself, 55% of respondents expressed their excitement, saying they’re happy to see the brothers back together, while 48% believe the tour will live up to the hype.
Elsewhere, over half of respondents (56%) named ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ – written by Noel and released in 1996 – as their all-time favourite Oasis hit. It was followed by one of the band’s best-known songs, ‘Wonderwall’ (40%), with ‘Morning Glory’ coming in third (26%).
Meanwhile, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? took the top spot in the favourite album category with 37% of the vote. Released in October 1995, the album was Oasis’s second studio record and featured some of their standout tracks, including ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Roll With It’, and ‘She’s Electric’.
But while some Oasis fans might be doubtful – some are simply taking the time to bask in the moment. One attendee even went as far as selling a bottle of air from one of the highly anticipated concerts.
A strange eBay listing offers “Atmosphere And Grass” from the band’s first gig at Heaton Park last Friday (July 11).
The pictures show blades of grass stuffed into a Pepsi Max bottle with a green wristband from the gig wrapped around the top. The seller is holding it at the show, albeit with their face blurred out.
At one point, the bottle was selling for over £7000.
Another listing offers turf from ‘Gallagher Hill’ – the field where ticketless fans gathered to listen to the band and soak up the atmosphere.
The Gallagher Hill grass is stuffed inside an empty Corona beer bottle and is being sold alongside an official Oasis Live’ 25 merchandise bag and a trolley which pictures show being dragged up the hill.
