Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp has been given some more harrowing news after being advised to prepare her kids for “the worst” by medical professionals
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp has been hit with another harrowing health blow.
The TV star’s battle with brain cancer has taken a further devastating turn, as she has been advised to prepare her children “for the worst”.
Teddi, 43, has already undergone more than 20 surgeries during her two and a half year cancer battle after being initially diagnosed with melanoma.
In recent months, she has been undergoing multiple surgeries to remove four tumors from her brain. Though sadly more tumors were discovered in her brain and lungs.
The daughter of rocker John Mellencamp had to share with her kids, daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, five, and son Cruz, 10, that they may have to face life without their mum.
Radar reported: “Teddi is a fighter – anyone who has watched Real Housewives can attest to that.
“But it just saps her fighting spirit to think she had beaten this, only to receive another horrible diagnosis.
“She had told her children that mommy’s sick, but she is going to be okay, and now it’s tearing her up to lay out the dark truth to them.
“Teddi does her very best to remain optimistic through her ordeals, but her main thought is with her family and beating this cancer for their sake.”
The outlet also revealed that oncologist Dr. Jerome Spunberg commented that Teddi “faces a grim future of painful treatments and likely a tragic end.”
Spunberg has not treated Teddi’s cancer personally, but added, “Melanoma is just notorious for spreading, and more times than not, more tumors pop up even as doctors treat the existing ones.
“She’s likely facing a period of very serious and painful medical ordeals, and the cure rate, unfortunately, is very low.”
On the weekend, Teddi updated her followers on Instagram and wrote: “Shortly after this [photo was taken] nurse Kel and @lital_aschkenasy iced me up and got me ready to [lie] in silence and the dark because my eye pain comes back same time every day.
“Over it. I mean, the same time every single afternoon,” she said before saying, “I can’t even watch my shows.”
She added: “Surgery swelling, please go away. I would owe you one.”
