David Beckham’s son Romeo was seen roaming around on a Lime bike in London’s Notting Hill before throwing his support behind the England footy legend on social media
Romeo Beckham was spotted in London just before his famous father’s knighthood was announced.
David’s 22-year-old son was seen hopping on a Lime bike in Notting Hill on Friday (June 13) following his recent (reported) split from Kim Turnbull. It also comes following reports of a family feud involving brother Brooklyn and other members of the Beckhams.
Footage shows Romeo riding the e-bike in the city, wearing an orange baseball cap and a white t-shirt. The passerby who noticed the former footballer-turned-model out alone said she was shocked he didn’t have anyone with him.
The passerby said: “I think he has just moved to the neighbourhood, as I spotted him a few days ago. He was getting a Lime bike, he sat there for a few minutes picking music before taking his shirt off. As he set off, he put his hat down further, presumably so nobody would notice him.”
The sighting comes a week after his reported split from DJ Ki Turnball after seven months, and a day before his dad, Sir David Beckham, was knighted in the King’s Birthday Honours.
David, who received an OBE in 2003, expressed his gratitude in a statement to the Mirror. He said: “Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour.
“To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true. Off the pitch I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Britain around the world and work with incredible organisations that are supporting communities in need and inspiring the next generation.
He added: “I’m so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I’m grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment. It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.”
After the announcement, Romeo posted a photo of himself and his dad on Instagram with a sweet message congratulating Sir David. He captioned the snap: “So proud of you”.
David’s wife Victoria gushed over the footy legend in a post of her own. She wrote: “You’ve always been my knight in shining armour, but now it’s official. Sir @davidbeckham! ! !
“What an honour, I couldn’t be prouder of you. Your dedication to the things that matter most – your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family – has never wavered.
“The way you’ve touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday. But above all else, I’m so, so proud to call you mine. I love you so much xxxx”
