Two iconic actors from Apple TV’s Severance are reuniting for a “deadly” new flick which has left fans in disbelief ahead of the show’s long-awaited third season
Severance fans don’t have long to wait to see their favourite actors again.
Though the second season of Severance has wrapped up with the ultimate cliffhanger, there’s no need for fans to pine for Britt Lower, who plays Helly/Helena, or Sydney Cole Alexander, who plays Natalie.
The pair are already diving into their next gig in the flick Psycho Therapy, hot on the heels of the Apple TV+ show’s hit second season. Britt, 39, is making waves post-Severance as she joins forces with Sydney for the new gritty thriller.
Lower recently teased the spine-tingling trailer for Psycho Therapy on Instagram, setting the tone with three knife emojis. Her co-star Sydney chimed in with a friendly smiley face emoji in response to the sneak peek.
In the film, also starring Steve Buscemi, Lower plays Suzie, a woman caught in a rocky marriage with Keane, an aspiring writer played by John Margaro.
Keane, desperate for inspiration for his murder story, crosses paths with “retired serial killer” Kollmick and ropes him in under the pretence of seeking guidance, reports the Express.
However, when Suzie mistakes Kollmick, played by Buscemi, for a couples’ therapist instead of a consultant for homicide, the story takes a hilariously sinister turn. Amidst the confusion, both Suzie and Keane start suspecting each other of foul play, leading to a whirlwind of dark comedy and suspense.
Sydney is set to spice things up as Zoe, Suzie’s trusted mate, popping up briefly in the teaser. The drama kicks up a notch when Suzie spills her guts to Zoe about her marriage worries, leading Zoe to press: “What do you mean by that?”.
The YouTube trailer has got fans buzzing big time, with one hyped-up viewer posting: “Praise Kier 1:02 That’s Natalie. We’ve got both Helena + Natalie.”
Another fan, clearly a Severance buff, quipped: “Her work is mysterious and important.” A third can’t wait to watch the film and burst out with: “I want to watch this! ! Where can we watch this! ! ? ASAP! !”
Lower’s been flat out with a bunch of gigs since starring in Severance, including her role in the movie Darkest Miriam. IMDb has information on her next projects, which include starring in Next Caller, Until the Wedding and of course, Severance’s hotly anticipated third season.
She’s also bagged a part in the Netflix chiller I Will Find You, rubbing shoulders with This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia, Sam Worthington, Logan Browning, and Erin Richards. The thriller is based on on Harlan Coben’s book and follows David Burroughs, a dad wrongfully arrested for his son’s murder, who goes on a mission to uncover the truth after getting wind his boy might still be alive.
Lower steps into the shoes of journalist Rachel Mills and David’s ex-sister-in-law, who digs up a scoop that could put her back in the game. Elsewhere, Sydney’s got some projects in the pipeline too, with After and The Country They Call Life both wrapping up production.
While there’s no official word yet on when the third series of Severance will start filming, director Ben Stiller has promised that the third chapter won’t take another three years to air.
