Spice Girls reunion will be ‘massive impact on UK’ – but not how you’d expect

EXCLUSIVE: The Spice Girls are rumoured to be reuniting for an anniversary tour and the girl group’s shows are set to have an impact on the country in a very big way…

A Spice Girls reunion would be an incredible event for the country in more ways than one.

Rumours have been flying regarding a possible Spice Girls reunion – although sadly without Victoria Beckham – and fans of the iconic pop group can’t believe the news.

Speaking on behalf of Betfred Lotto, Celebrity PR Specialist Kayley Cornelius has chatted exclusively to Daily Star about how a Spice Girls tour could impact the country’s economy in more ways than one, despite their missing member.

She said: “Beyond ticket sales the economic potential is massive, with tens of millions of pounds likely to be generated for local economies.”

“For marketers it is the stuff of dreams and with millions of fans potentially travelling across the country, the reunion could provide a major boost to hospitality, nightlife and retail sectors. Expect exclusive collaborations and branded experiences as businesses look to tap into the excitement and create memorable moments for fans.”

However, it has been rumoured that Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, has decided to give the reunion a miss which could severely impact the tour’s success.

Kayley explained: “Without Victoria on board, Sporty, Baby, Ginger and Scary will need to go the extra mile to meet the sky-high expectations and reassure fans that they won’t be missing out on the full Spice Girls experience.”

She said that the news of one missing member “could well dampen enthusiasm among some fans.”

“This reunion had the potential to generate the same kind of international buzz that surrounded Oasis when they announced their comeback tour last year.”

The Spice Girls’ tour may not be as successful as they expect without Victoria’s involvement

“However, with Victoria seemingly unwilling to come to the table, it’s unlikely to become the global phenomenon the band and their label may have been banking on.”

Kayley noted that “nostalgia remains a powerful force in entertainment” which helped sales of Oasis’ comeback tour tickets and boosted the success of Girls Aloud’s reunion tour last year.

If you can’t wait for your Spice Girls fix, Melanie C will be performing at Pacha Ibiza on 17 May. The singer will be joined by Robin Schulz, The Menendez Brothers and Wavewave for the Pure Pacha evening, which is running across eight Saturdays from May 10 to September 27.
