Disney’s Aladdin is next in line for a gruesome horror movie makeover following the likes of Winnie The Pooh, Bambi, Alice in Wonderland and a whole host of other childhood favourites
Aladdin is the next Disney film in line to receive a terrifying horror movie reboot.
Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw is reportedly set to begin filming next month in the UK. Empire Studios, Every Entertainment and 8th Law Pictures are reportedly behind the upcoming project.
According to reports, Queen of the South’s Nick Sagar, EastEnders Ricky Norwood, Terrifier 3’s Bradley Stryker and Tell Me Everything’s Montana Manning will star in the film.
Bloody Disgusting tweeted: “Production begins next month on ALADDIN: THE MONKEY’S PAW, a horror movie version of the classic Aladdin story.”
“Aladdin inherits a monkey’s paw, only to discover that every desire comes at a soul-crushing price. As those around him fall, he must confront a growing evil.”
Fans of the beloved Disney film appeared interested in the plot and rushed to share their thoughts underneath the tweet.
One person wrote: “Okay, this may be pretty something interesting if it’s pulled off right,” while another added: “Count me in.”
Others admitted that the premise “sounds very interesting,” someone else joked that they are “seated” while another person tweeted: “WAIT. YES.”
However, others were less impressed and one person fumed: “Sounds dumb as hell. What’s the point of mashing up Aladdin and monkeys paw into something that sounds generic and bad.”
Another person begged for the Disney horror remakes to “stop being made” because “they all suck,” while one X/Twitter user wrote: “I don’t f****** care.”
As of now, the film’s IMDb page only shows the film’s name and the movie poster – a red background behind a creepy monkey’s hand with long nails.
The film’s tagline reads: “Be careful what you wish for.”
Screenplay writer Charley McDougall released a statement saying: “We always wanted to explore horror through a personal lens — not just the scares, but the human cost of wishes.”
“This story’s been haunting us for a while, and it’s time to let it loose. The best horror films haunt you long after the credits roll. That’s what this story does.”
“It’s sharp, emotional, and full of dread in all the right ways. We’re not just making another horror film — we’re building a world around a truly iconic concept. The paw, the mythology, the characters — it’s all there.”
