Eurovision hopes Remember Monday have dreamed up the perfect tactic for the contest – plenty of time in bed. Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele plan to get lots of sleep before their big performance at the final in Basel, Switzerland this month. They’re convinced it will help them hit all the right notes with their UK entry What The Hell Just Happened?

Holly-Anne said: “It’s really important for us to get eight hours of sleep every night. As soon as we lose sleep, that’s normally when the voices decide to deteriorate and we don’t want that to happen!”

Charlotte added: “We won’t be having any big nights out. We will be looking after ourselves and pacing ourselves. We will have a heavy week of performing to think about.

“We love a party, but we also love bed. I think it will be a balancing act.

“When we hit that wall of tiredness, we all know what to do. We all go, ‘Good night’ and take ourselves off to bed.”

The girls will also be avoiding booze to keep their voices in tip top condition.

Charlotte added: “When it comes to alcohol, it’s a case of everything in moderation.”

Lauren said: “We’ve been told to avoid Rylan Clark because apparently he’ll want to take us out and get us drunk!”

Remember Monday want to be careful because they want to pull off a cracking performance.

They’re determined to do the UK proud.

But they insist they aren’t worried about where they place on the scoreboard.

Charlotte said: “We haven’t thought about our chances of winning. We are doing Eurovision because we’re obsessed with the journey of it all and getting to be a band every single day.

“This is a chance to experience new things and sing to new

people. The points aren’t the end goal for us.”

Lauren added: “We keep forgetting it’s a contest. We forget it’s a competition and whether people will give us points.

“Eurovision is so much more than just the day for us, it’s the whole process.”

Bookies aren’t tipping the girls to win the contest.

One is offering odds of 80-1 that they’ll pull off the first UK victory since 1997, but they aren’t letting that bother them.

Charlotte said: “I do love looking at the odds, but we don’t look at them too much. It’s still early.

“Things change all the time. It’s what you do on the night. That’s all we want to focus on.”
