Victoria Beckham has received support from an unlikely source after her son Brooklyn’s brutal snub on Father’s Day, as the fashion mogul was reached out to by a celebrity
Victoria Beckham has gained an unexpected supporter following her son Brooklyn’s Father’s Day omission – none other than Yolanda Hadid, who shares a past connection with Nicola Peltz.
Yolanda Hadid, mother to supermodel siblings Gigi and Bella, made a gesture of solidarity towards Victoria after ongoing rumours surrounding her husband David’s recent knighthood. It’s understood that Yolanda experienced tension with Nicola after she was romantically involved with her son Anwar for a year and a half.
The 61-year-old reportedly took issue with the age gap between Nicola, then 22, and Anwar, 18. Following their split, Nicola went on to unfollow the entire Hadid family on social media.
Despite not being known as close friends, Yolanda recently engaged with one of Victoria’s posts celebrating David’s new title.
She left a love heart emoji in response to Victoria’s heartfelt message where the 51 year old described David as “always been my knight in shining armour…but now it’s official.”
Gigi and Bella have graced the runway for Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show in 2022, even sharing backstage moments with Victoria’s daughter Harper. Nicola’s fleeting fling with Anwar occurred as she was making strides in her acting career. In a past interview, she spoke fondly of Anwar: ‘Honestly, he is an angel.
“He’s such an amazing person. He comes from such an amazing family. Gigi and Bella are so, so sweet. I just love his family so much. They’re feminine, strong girls. To have that around is amazing.”
Insiders close to Nicola have insisted there’s no animosity between her and the Hadids, stating that unfollowing them on social media is a typical move after a break up. The Hadid’s have yet to comment on their relationship with Peltz. The Beckhams reportedly fell out with Brooklyn’s wife after she and Brooklyn failed to attend David’s 50th birthday bash earlier this year.
There was also noticeable silence from Brooklyn on Father’s Day last week. Sources close to Nicola maintain that reconciliation seems unlikely at present due to the “highly charged atmosphere.”
Nicola’s friends have previously claimed that as an outsider entering the Beckham family, she has helped Brooklyn recognise the “emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within”. These allegations, labelled as “patently untrue and ludicrous” by the Beckhams’ friends, were the final straw in any potential future relationship, insiders say.
David Beckham commemorated Father’s Day over the weekend by sharing a heartfelt photo of him and Brooklyn from before their estrangement. Both Becks, 50, and his wife Victoria included their eldest son in social media posts to mark the day.
However, he also posted a separate image of them laughing over a glass of wine, captioned: “Love you @brooklynpeltzbeckham” alongside a white heart emoji. Cruz Beckham, 20, shared a heartwarming holiday snap with his dad, penning: “Happy Father’s Day I love you.”
Meanwhile, Romeo, 22, posted a selection of photos together and declaring he “loves his dad so much” – but Brooklyn was notably silent on the day.
