White Lotus star ‘firm favourite’ to play James Bond as fans swoon over hunk

One White Lotus actor is clearly a fan favourite to take the spot of James Bond after Daniel Craig left the role following his final 007 film No Time To Die back in 2021

One beloved White Lotus star is the favourite to take over James Bond.

Theo James starred as Cameron Sullivan in season two of the HBO drama alongside Aubrey Plaza. Cameron and his wife join a group of guests at the White Lotus resort in Sicily, where he exposes himself to a friend, makes a pass at her and parties all night long before taking MDMA and getting down and dirty with a girl from outside of the hotel, all unbeknownst to his unsuspecting wife.

The 40-year-old is now a fan favourite to replace Daniel Craig in the role of James Bond. The Sun reported that bookies Coral have had an “influx of bets on the actor,” which has led to a “reduction in his odds of playing the character”.

According to The Sun, his odds are now at 2-1. Theo first burst onto the scene back in 2011 as Jed Harper in Bedlam, but many will remember him in The Inbetweeners Movie for that infamous scene with…ahem…poo on his nose.

Luckily, this didn’t affect his hunky image and Theo went on to star in a number of Hollywood flicks including The Monkey, Underworld Awakening, The Domino Effect, Divergent and How It Ends.

However, Theo isn’t the only actor in the running to take on the role, which was previously held by Daniel Craig. The character helped propel Craig into the spotlight, but he has since decided to move on from the franchise.

Stephen Graham, known most recently for gritty Netflix drama Adolescence, is reportedly now in the runnings amongst fans.

Daniel Craig will be replaced with a new actor

Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have all been rumoured to be undertaking the 007 role, although nothing has been confirmed.

Before recently giving up the film franchise, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson have insisted that the character James Bond will remain a British man.

An insider told Mail on Sunday: “Amazon is committed to keeping the spirit of Bond alive and that means he has to be British or from the Commonwealth – and he has to be male.”

James Bond is a fictional character from the franchise of the same name. He was created by Ian Fleming back in 1953 and served as a British Secret Service agent throughout his novels.

Bonds is also known by the iconic nickname 007 and is part of one of the highest-grossing media franchises ever. The films, which began in 1962 with Sean Connery in Dr. No, is one of the longest running film series of all time.

Actors who have played Bond include Connery, Craig, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.
