John Cleese is charging fans £249 for insulting video messages

Fawlty Towers hero John Cleese is willing to send hardcore fans insulting message for a fee of £249.

Although die-hard fans will have to cough up an even heftier sum of cash to receive niceties from the funnyman, according to his profile on the website Cameo.

The Monty Python icon, 80, also jokes that he has resorted to selling “shoutouts” due to “no offers for work at all.”

It seems the comedian has become quite a hit on the digital platform, receiving glowing feedback from customers.

Some of his hilarious video snippets have been shared on the platform and they’ll certainly raise a smile or maybe an eyebrow.

His profile has been ranked highly, receiving 4.9 gold stars out of a possible 5, on the site.

In true John Cleese fashion, the comedian quipped on his intro: “Hello I’m John Cleese, or I used to be before I died and since my death as I’ve received no offers for work at all, so I’ve been reduced to doing these shoutouts so that I can send messages to your loved ones.”

“I can be sweet, loving and sympathetic if that’s what you really want but I charge more for that because it’s so f****** boring.”

“But better, I can send messages to your unloved ones, I can send threats or insults or I can talk to them to say ‘your mother was a hamster’ and ‘your father smelled like elderberries’, all you have to do is give me some money.

It isn’t the first time John has offered fans his services in exchange for cash, he had also operated an online meet-and-greet operation via US website Fanmio.

John previously urged fans: “I trust I’ve ­given you a few laughs over the years and now I’d love to give you the chance to meet me and ask me ­questions – personally meet me on a one-on-one video meet-and-greet session.

“It’ll just be the two of us talking and you can ask me whatever you want.”

More recently, John became victim of a nasty online hoax that implied the star had died.

It wasn’t long before fans started to become concerned after false claims began to trend on Facebook.

The ‘RIP John Cleese’ message gained significant traction and received nearly 1 million likes on the digital app.

However the actor’s representatives were quick to slam claims, releasing a statement which read: “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimised by this hoax.

“He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet.”
