This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield was forced to deny he passed wind live on air during today’s fitness segment.
The ITV star, 58, took part in a virtual yoga session during the latest instalment of the ITV daytime show via a video link with instructor Barbara.
Phillip’s co-star Holly Willoughby didn’t take part in the activity, but couldn’t control her laughter as she watched her pal copy Barbara’s moves.
Phillip showed off his flexibility and successfully completed the short session and was confused as to what Holly was laughing at.
The presenter asked: “What’s so funny?”
A giggling Holly admitted: “I’ve got the giggles.
“I was just imagining what would happen if you farted during one of the moves.”
Fans rushed to Twitter to point out that a farting sound was in fact heard during the segment, but not all was as it seemed.
Phil quickly pointed out that he didn’t break wind during the segment and it was Holly making the strange noise.
The TV presenter instructed Holly to tell viewers that he did not trump live on air after the programme returned from a break,
Holly explained: “I just want to say I was only laughing because I was imagining all the farting sounds. It’ll always be funny.”
Phil added: “Yeah when it’s not about you.
“Even My brother has texted me asking if I farted during the show. I did not. it was Holly or the sound team.”
This Morning viewers were divided over Holly’s “childish” joke.
One fan penned: “Oh it was Holly making fart noises lol.”
Another added: ” Holly was being funny doing that fart noise, a bit of fun! Lighten up!.”
A third moaned: “Wow! Holly is really disrespectful. When someone’s on the show, she’s doing fart noises, what a f***ing arrogant person she is. Laughing throughout segments, absolutely disgraceful and disrespectful.
A fourth posted: “Holly doing the fart noise is a bit childish.”
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
