Hollyoaks fans aghast as Edward 'pretends' Tony has brain tumour in sick twist

Hollyoaks fans were left heartbroken tonight as Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) found out he has a brain tumour.

During Monday’s first look episode on E4, Tony suffered a seizure after his evil father Edward (Joe McGann) spiked his drink during a family lunch.

In an attempt to mend his relationship with his long-lost sister Verity (Eva O’Hara), Tony invited her to a lunch to celebrate her business merger with Sami Maalik and James Nightingale.

After learning Verity already had plans with Edward, Tony extended an invitation to their father.

Taking the opportunity to cause more trouble, a scheming Edward spiked his son’s drink during the meal, causing him to have seizure and collapse.

In tonight’s visit to Hollyoaks, a confused Tony woke up in hospital with Edward refusing to let him leave until he’s had a brain scan.

Later at Luke Morgan’s (Gary Lucy) birthday party, Tony suddenly turned up just as Diane (Alex Fletcher) was telling guests about her husband’s shock collapse.

Tony told Diane his results were clear but, once again up to his evil tricks, Edward told Tony he has a brain tumour in front of the party goers.

Fans of the Channel 4 soap were left heartbroken at Tony’s health discovery but some were convinced that Edward is lying about his son’s brain tumour.
