Piers Morgan has labelled the lawyer of Thomas Lane, one of the police officers facing charges for the death of George Floyd, as “inhuman” on Monday’s Good Morning Britain.
The controversial star and his co-host Susanna Reid spoke to US lawyer Earl Gray about the ongoing case, which sparked protests and riots around the world this morning.
But it’s clear Piers, who has been vocal in his support of the protests, was in complete disagreement with anything Earl had to say.
He took to Twitter after the interview and shared a message with his 7.5million followers slamming the cop’s lawyer.
Piers wrote: “Wow. What an extraordinary and depressing interview with the lawyer for one of the George Floyd murder police officers.

“Sneering, arrogant, dismissive, inhuman, shameful.”
Earl had defended his client Thomas Lane, saying he wasn’t listened to when he suggested turning George Floyd over while Derek Chauvin’s knee was on his neck.
Susanna asked about Thomas’ involvement in the incident, which saw Derek Chauvin keep his knee on George’s neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds.
The attorney said: “Thomas Lane was on his fourth day of being a police officer. Chauvin had 20 years as a police officer.

“A police department is ran like a military service. You have officers, you have experienced police officers, then you have rookies that are on the job four days.”
Defending Thomas, he went on: “In any event, my client said twice, ‘Shall we roll him over?’
“One time he thought he was suffering, I can’t remember exactly what he said, a delirium.
“My client was down by George Floyd’s feet. He was not up by the neck, he was holding his feet because George Floyd had resisted being handcuffed and he had resisted going into the back of the squad car.”
All four police officers involved in George Floyd’s death have now been charged in relation to the incident.
Derek Chauvin’s charges have been upgraded from third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter to second-degree murder.
Thomas Lane, J Kueng and Tou Thao are charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
All four cops were fired from the Minneapolis Police Department after the event.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
