Katy Perry has recalled the moment she told pal Harry Styles that she was expecting her first child with her fiancé, Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom.
The 35-year-old hitmaker revealed to Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills that she confided in the Watermelon Sugar singer after they bumped into one another on a flight.
Katy went on to say that Harry had offered her his seat as she was crouching down while telling him her exciting news.
Describing the former One Direction singer as a “complete gentleman,” Katy added that she hadn’t publicly revealed the news she was with child after she blurted the news to Hazza.

Speaking about their encounter, Katy said: “I saw him on a plane, it was so funny. I actually saw him on a plane before I announced that I was pregnant.
“We were having a conversation and I was like: ‘Yeah and I’m pregnant’, just like off the cuff, cause I was like, what else do you say.”
The Californian gal went on to add: “He was so happy for me, he actually, you know what he was so sweet. I was like crouching down by his seat on the plane and once I had told him that, he got up out of his seat and he’s like: ‘Here, sit in my seat.’

“And I was like, ‘Noo! I’ll just go and sit in my own seat’, which is right across the way, but he’s like a complete gentleman.”
She later went on to speak about One Direction after having played a part in their creation, after stepping in as a guest judge on The X Factor, sending Niall Horan through to boot camp.
When quizzed on her favourite member of the five-piece boyband, she said: “I’m not choosing anyone but I did choose Niall to go through on the X-Factor. So I do feel like ownership over that like I completed One Direction, don’t ever forget that!

“I love those boys it’s nice to see everyone grow, but Styles I love him and what he stands for.”
Katy revealed her happy news in the music video for her latest single Never Worn White in March, cradling her growing bump.
She became engaged to Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom in 2019 and the pair expected to tie the knot this year in Japan but the plans were halted due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
