Loose Women was back on our screens this afternoon for the latest instalment of the ITV daytime show.
TV presenter Christine Lampard was in the anchor’s seat today alongside panellist Jane Moore and Janet Street-Porter and Judi Love joined in the conversation via a video link from the comfort of her own home.
Conversation quickly turned to whether or not the ladies would let their children have a television in their bedroom.
Unsurprisingly, Janet, 73, felt very strongly about the topic and admitted she doesn’t want “the competition” from the piece of technology.
The journalist ranted: “I would never have a television in the bedroom ever.
Janet opened up about ‘competition’ in the bedroom
Christine intervened: “What even now? You love your news and everything else.
Janet continued: “I like my news and documentaries but I don’t want a telly in the bedroom, I don’t want competition.
“When you’re watching telly these bodies come up.
She added: “In any murder mystery now you a person has to be seen without any clothes on for no reason whatsoever.
She said she ‘wants the bedroom to be a place of mystery and darkness’
“I want the bedroom to be a place of mystery and darkness and no snoring.”
“If you get a telly in the bedroom you’re more or less saying ‘I prefer that gadget to you!’.
The television debate left ITV viewers divided with some fans branding the debate “out-dated”.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “I thought all kids of a certain age had TV’s in their rooms these days.”
The Loose ladies were left chuckling
Another added: “I got my first TV when I was 8. That was in the 90s. Don’t see the issue at all.”
A third ranted: “I feel like we’ve gone back in time with this debate about televisions.”
A fourth agreed: “What can it hurt? If they have laptops, phones, iPads – a tv is less intrusive.”
