This Morning fans say Eamonn is 'turning into Piers Morgan' in 'rude' interview

This Morning fans have compared Eamonn Holmes to Piers Morgan on today’s episode as they claimed his interviewing technique was “rude”.

The 60-year-old ITV presenter is hosting the show alongside his wife Ruth Langsford during the week while Holly Willoughy and Phil Schofield take an extended summer break.

Today the couple spoke to Professor Sarah Gilbert about the “major breakthrough” in terms of a coronavirus vaccine, but fans were distracted as they accused Eamonn of “interrupting” her.

One said: “@EamonnHolmes asking the professor on @thismorning when the vaccine will be available, and interrupting her before she can even answer the question! Fgs someone tell him to let people speak!”

While another wrote: “Eamonn slowly turning into Piers Morgan; grumpy and interrupting Ruth, which is not setting a good example and doesn’t show the professionalism that viewers expect.

“There’s no need to be rude.”

“He’s awful. He just asked the professor two questions and only let her answer one before interrupting her, again. I can’t watch anymore. He’s shocking” added a third.

Yesterday’s episode of This Morning saw Eamonn leave Queen of Clean Lynsey Crombie red-faced during a cleaning segment.

Lynsey was advising viewers on how to get stains out of their clothing, but Eamonn turned things racy.

Ruth said Eamonn was a messy eater, claiming: “You do eat in a hurry and it’s a family joke because he [wipes his shirt and says] ‘How did that happen?'”

After Eamonn remarked that he’d “ruined” plenty of clothes by staining them, Linsey replied: “I bet you take your shirt off don’t you and put it straight in the washing machine on a hot wash.”

Eamonn hit back: “Strip… naked torso and I’m there ripping it off like the hulk and it’s in the washing bin.”

As the This Morning crew giggled, Ruth joked: “Honestly, I bet you wished you had my life.”
