Coronation Street's Paula Wilcox teases exit amid Geoff murder speculation

Actress Paula Wilcox may have let slip what happens to her Coronation Street character Elaine after opening up about Geoff Metcalfe’s sinister plan.

The star joined Corrie as Geoff’s abused ex-wife and secret mother of Tim (Joe Duttine) after reading about Yasmeen’s (Shelley King) case in the news.

And given she knows all about Geoff’s evil ways, having lived through the abuse herself, it seems she may be his next target.

Speaking to Daily Star Online, Paula said: “He just doesn’t want her there.

“There’s a little scene when he warns her off then he sees her there again and he’s going to make damn sure that she doesn’t mess up his plans, because she knows everything about him.

Elaine knows too well what Geoff is capable of as he abused her too

“She can really blow the whistle on him.”

Elaine visited Yasmeen in prison and Alya (Sair Khan) begged her to help out her gran’s case, as she was so scared for her life that she ran away from Geoff – and left her baby son Tim with him.

Speaking of Elaine’s meeting with Geoff, Paula said: “I think it’s just the way he speaks to her, everything comes flooding back – the fear, the dread, the horror, the fear for her life comes back.

Geoff has some really sinister ways – but what will he do to get rid of Elaine?

“And it really is like get me out of here, just let me go away, please let me disappear.”

It has not yet been revealed how far Geoff could go to get Elaine out of the picture this time around, and while Geoff hasn’t killed yet – unless you count Yasmeen’s beloved pet chicken – viewers know he’s a terrifyingly ruthless man so could be capable of anything.

Elaine visited Yasmeen in prison to tell her about Geoff’s abuse

And even Paula has confessed she doesn’t know the future for Elaine, as her stint on Coronation Street won’t be for too long – at least this time around.

Paula told us: “I really don’t know. It depends how this goes and what happens, because I don’t really know what’s happening.

“I’m doing some shooting on something else starting in September, so I don’t really know what’s next for me.”

However, all being well, it seems she’d love Elaine to have a return role later down the line.

Paula said: “I think this story could run and run, but we’ll see. I have my fingers crossed.”

Sadly for Elaine it seems not only does Geoff want her gone, but so does Tim, as he refuses to believe what she tells him.

Could Elaine ruffle a few more feathers while she’s in town?

Coronation Street currently airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV
