Coronation Street fans baffled by Geoff computer 'plot hole' as abuse exposed

Coronation Street fans were delighted to see Geoff Metcalfe exposed on this evening’s episode, as Sally Webster hacked his computer.

With help from his granddaughter Faye, she showed Tim Metcalfe a video of Geoff abusing Yasmeen Nazir, proving she had attacked him in self-defence.

However, certain viewers were a little confused by some of the technical elements of the reveal, as they took to Twitter to debate the scene.

Firstly, viewers couldn’t believe how quickly Sally and Tim had worked out Geoff’s password, hacking into his computer in a matter of minutes.

Secondly, others griped about Faye’s hacking skills, as she quickly guessed which CCTV app to reinstall into the computer with no prior research.

One wrote: “How did she know what camera app to install. #Corrie.”

Geoff was finally exposed as an abuser during this evening’s episode

A second added: “Oh I suppose this girl is suddenly and expert on hiding files… DOS?#Corrie.”

And a third chimed: “That Password could be anything especially when Passwords include capitals, numbers & symbols but yet Sally worked it out. Really!!!”

After months of defending his father, Tim was confronted by the reality of Geoff’s abuse on this evening’s episode, finally seeing the light.

He watched on in horror as Sally played a clip of Geoff mashing his phone into Yasmeen’s face, before ordering her to buy him some chips.

While Faye and Sally left to give the video to the police as evidence, Geoff called over, demanding that Sally return his laptop.

However, Tim made it clear he wanted nothing to do with him, as he confronted Geoff about his abusive behaviour towards Yasmeen and Elaine Jones’ disappearance.

As the police called to the door looking for Geoff, he snapped: “We’re finished.

“Go on. Get out of my house, I never want to see you again.”

Though Geoff had tears in his eyes, he made a sinister comment as he left with the police, saying: “You’re making a terrible mistake.”

Is the video footage enough to get Geoff sent behind bars?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
