Original Four Season member Tommy DeVito has died from coronavirus

Tommy DeVito, who was part of the group The Four Seasons, has died after suffering complications following a battle with Covid-19 at age 92, it has been reported by TMZ.

Tommy reportedly died in a hospital in the Las Vegas area on Monday night.

Actor Alfred Nittoli, who stared in the hit film Casino was first to verify his friend’s passing in a moving Facebook tribute.

He wrote: “My dear friend Tommy passed away in Las Vegas at 9:45 last night

“With deep regret I am writing this sitting in his living room.

“I was informed by his daughter Darcel there will be a service in New Jersey.”

Frontman Frankie Valli and keyboard player Bob Gaudio also released a statement to confirm his death.

The message read: “It is with great sadness that we report that Tommy DeVito, a founding member of The Four Seasons, has passed.

“We send our love to his family during this most difficult time. He will be missed by all who loved him.”

The Four Seasons shot to fame and had international success throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

Back in the 1970s they were also known as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Before they catapulted to international superstardom the foursome, comprising of Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, were originally called the The Four Lovers.

They have had a number of chart-toppers, including classics such as Oh, What A Night, Walk Like A Man, Big Girls Don’t Cry and Sherry.

Frankie took centre stage as lead singer, Bob on the keyboard and tenor vocals, Nick Massi electric bass and bass vocal while DeVito lead on guitar and baritone vocals.
