Liz Hurley leaves Lorraine fans distracted with 'ageless beauty' during ITV chat

Liz Hurley appeared on Lorraine on Wednesday morning, urging viewers to take part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month in an effort to combat the devastating disease.

Taking in the 55-year-old’s words of wisdom, certain ITV viewers headed to social media to praise Liz’s ageless beauty, as they listened to her advice on the show.

Appearing via video call, Liz chatted with presenter Christine Lampard – who is filling in for Lorraine Kelly – about a breast check event taking place this evening (October 21).

Opening up to viewers, Liz explained: “I started joining the campaign because I’d lost my grandmother to breast cancer.”

The Bedazzled actress reflected on how dramatically the fight against breast cancer has improved in recent years, recalling joining the movement when “Breast Cancer Awareness Month was just in its early infancy”.

Liz urged viewers to check their breasts in an impassioned plea on today’s show

Tonight’s event will see Liz proudly host the “largest self-check event the world has ever had”.

Liz explained the coronavirus lockdown has caused a concerning decrease in mammograms and breast checks, as certain women put off doctor visits due to the pandemic.

Urging female viewers to take action, she said: “During this particular time it’s incredibly important because we’ve found out that fewer women in the UK are going to the doctor for mamograms, fewer women are going to the doctor if they notice something is wrong because they are so concentrated on other parts of health – obviously, at this time.

“However, breast cancer will still affect one in eight women. Every 15 seconds across the world, one woman is diagnosed with breast cancer.”

Liz continued: “It’s more important than ever at this time that women take care of themselves.

“We think that by showing people how to self check during this time, and during every time, this could really save lives.”

Lorraine airs on weekdays at 9am on ITV.
